Ive had problems logging onto to anything the past couple of days, I can get online but everytime I use bookmarks it says this page cannot be found, if I persevere with it I do eventually get onto the page I want.

The salon geek page was all strange, mostly white background with the taskbar all over the place and in a different style and font.

getting onto hotmail takes about 15 minutes.

My AVG anti virus said that it wasnt uptodate so I've sorted that out, even though I manually update it everytime I log on. Thats now sorted.

I'm disk defragmenting even though that is up to date.

Any advice?

Hi - have you any spamware? I've got a system that checks for downloaded rubbish on the computer and when I do that it usually quickens stuff up!

will it clash/not be compatitble with my AVG anti-virus programme?

the computer is working a little better but not to its best.
sometimes the page clicks straight on, other times it says Internet connection not found.

I am defragging again, and have got rid of lots of unnecessary files.

If I press the option to diagnose problem its now saying that their isn't a problem, whereas last night it said it might be the internet connection.

sounds like a dafty question, but, my laptop isn't holding its charge anymore. It has to be plugged in at all times. do you think thats something to do with it? and would it be the laptop itself or the plug/adaptor?

How long have you had your laptop for, and how much do you use it? I know at intervals I have to save everything I want to keep onto an external hard drive or USB stick, take everything off the laptop then reload all the programmes. Otherwise it becomes so slow it's unusable. It's getting to that stage now in fact, taking about a minute to load a web page.
It's an absolute pain, but it really does work.

I've had the laptop for a year and 2 months.

I was just thinking that I might start putting stuff like the past years accounts on disc or memory stick to see if that helps.

Its taken 10 minutes for me to get onto here but the computer has been active on the internet almost immediately.

I was worried that it was a virus or something like that. But if its just overloaded with files thats easily remedied.
