for some reason I can't get onto word.
It says not responding all of the time.

Any help would be appreciated, I can't do my invoicing, print any of my manuals off or certificates or anything like that. Eek!

Luckily got most of it saved onto a memory card, but its still scary that I can't access word to do any work.

hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhelllllllllllllllllllpppppppppppppppppp!!!!

That is weird! I guess you have tried rebooting?

Mines done the same, then it like deregistered Microsoft and when I reenter my code it tells me its already registered and now I have no Microsoft on my PC as someone told me to uninstall it. I too am lost lol!! I have 3 PCs, 1 with a broke harddrive and 1 with no microsoft and I pray this one stands up for a few more weeks as I have not had a moment to back my files up! You think PCs would be more reliable by now wouldnt you.

Hope you get it sorted.

That is bizarre! I hardly ever get those sorts of problems! And when I do, a reboot usually fixes them.

The worst that happens to me most of the time is that my laptop just hangs and needs a reboot - but that is usually after several days of running a zillion and one programs at once, and being hibernated several times as well...

You say no microsoft like it's a bad thing :)

If you're running windows I would suggest:

1. Reboot cures easy things
2. Make sure you are virus free and malware free
3. Always keep a copy of all your software and the serial numbers so you can reinstall
4. At worst use your recovery disk and rebuild from there

When all else fails, take the plunge and buy a Mac. I've supported PCs for 20 years and now use a Macbook and it is fab - no viruses or malware

its the first thing that I did - reboot.

I can't get into my email/internet through my usual internet explorer, I am using firefox at the moment.

I popped into 2 computer shops today and one said it sounds like xp word is corrupt and needs removing and then readding.

the other one says they would have a look and see what it was.

I did a huge virus search thingy last week and it came up with something that had been put in the vault and repaired it.

I'm just scanning again, its been on 2 hours so far and found nothing.

Think I'll just have to take it to the shop and see how much they quote me.

just done a huge scan and no threats, but 24 cookie warnings which have been removed.

none the wiser like!

ummmmm guys. when you say reboot - what does that mean? I thought you mean't switching it off and on again.....is that not rebooting?

So Internet explorer isn't working either. Definitely strange. You need someone to look at it. Not something that can be sorted by email or on the phone.

Regards

Mike
