Hi,

Ive been having enhancements for 4 yrs now I always book another appointment for when they start to lift etc!
The lady who does my nails calls them INFILLS! Can sombody tell me what the difference is between INFILLS and REBALANCE??

Also when having infills what grit file should be used to remove the gel for a new tip?

Please advice!!

Angie

hiya hun, dont you trust your tech? your post seems to come across that you're a bit worried? Do you always visit the same tech? Does she always use the same product line?
Many techs use the terms infill and rebalance to describe the same thing, although an infill is generally thought of as filling in new product where the natural nail has grown and a rebalance is replacing the apex.

so whats up chick? xx

Hiya ... some people just call and infill a re balance and visa versa...really though a infill is when the regrowth is filled...a re balance is when the nail is re balanced, as in apex re-positioned...growth filled...length adjusted..ect....

I am sure you nail tech is using the term infill meaning a re balance....

As for removing the gel for a new tip, i rarely do this...i continue to infill/rebalance every 3-4 weeks until the nails are then a NNO (natural nail overlay) so as the nail grows the tip moves down the nail...as we remove length at each infill/re balance the tip gradually gets removed and you are left with the product on the natural nail only. (heck thats hard to explain)

Should you need to remove gel then starting with 180 i would remove the bulk and then use a 240 the nearer the natural nail i got. I always leave a thin layer of gel on though to protect the nail.
