I charge 50p for every mile outside my 5 mile radius.
I have a new client that's 7.3miles away, so it's £1 something. How do I work out the 0.3?
Thanks

You are traveling 2.3 miles extra.

7.3 - 5 = 2.3

However, you are doing it twice! As you are going there and then coming back. So you are actually doing

2.3 + 2.3 = 4.6

Then just times the miles by the 50p

4.6 X .50 = 2.30

So it's £2.30 extra.

Hope that makes sense.

If you only want to charge one way, as in 2.3 miles, it's £1.15

Best way to do it is think of the miles as pounds and then just half it.

2.3 miles is £2.30

£2.30 halted is £1.15

Thanks that's brilliant!

Personally I would charge per mile and part of. I.e. if they go into the next mile radius... they pay for it as a whole, not part of. It would make it much easier on yourself :)
