Hi

I am tying to buy a Beauty and tanning salon, and just to break even i need to make £2300 per month and that only includes 1 pt member of staff.....is anyone in the same postion??

Wow, I am assume your rent sucks! Are there any areas of cost savings you can make?

Hi, We need a little more info:)

Are you taking over a going concern and including the cost of buying the business into your monthly costs?

Are you buying or leasing any sunbeds and, again, including them in your monthly costs?

jes

Where abouts in beds are you? i had a salon there so may be able to comment on rent rates and local stuff to give you a hand x

Sounds about right to me! If you are paying a full time member of staff then i would assume that is your biggest expense.
A lot of people don't realise the costs of running a salon. On top of rent, there are also; rates, electric, gas, water, telephone, insurance, licences, accountant, advertising, printing costs, pdq rental, stock, wages and then on top of that you have the little things that soon add up like; tea, coffee, milk, sugar, laundry, toilet rolls, cleaning stuff, magazines etc.........
I'm sure there are a few things i've missed off too.
It's certainly not for the faint hearted!

sound pretty reasonable to me. It's only around £600 per week. Thats not big overheads for a salon. PM me if you want me to look at your figures in more detail
