1) Can the IBD ultra seal and intense seal be soaked off, or are they buff off, and would the uv topcoat be better than either of these over soak off gel?

2) I need new bulbs for my ibd lamp, is it worth paying extra for the ibd bulbs, or should any 4 watt bulbs be good enough?

they are file off gels.
they dont make good topcoats for a soak off gel as there will be incompatibility between the different flexibilities of the 2 gels. the top gel may crack because the gel below has more movement.

are you sure they are 4 watt? thats pretty unusual in a gel lamp, though i dont have the ibd lamp so i'm not sure.
its best to get the ones recomended by your manufacturer as the fittings could be different and also the uv output will be specially selected for their line of gels. choosing other bulbs may resuly in incomplete curing and product breakdown/overexposure.

i was told by my trainer that ultra seal is better for soak off gel as intense seal is harder & can cause the soak off to crack, which lamp do you have? i have the jet 1000 & you can get 2 4watt bulbs from pompadours for around £12

The bulbs/ Lamp you use with your get is designed to work with that gel, i think there is an article on here that explains it really well, as previously said, i wouldnt take the risk as it could affect the performance of your product hth x

Yep, the jet 1000 uses two 4 watt bulbs. It says on the bottom to only replace with f4t5 blacklight bulbs, (I dont know anything about bulbs but I know blacklight is the type of finish on the bulb, I think t5 means the fitting on it, and im assuming f4 means fluorescent 4 watt) it doesnt say to only use ibd ones though.
