Hi all,

I'm looking for help and advice on courses. I am currently working full time and considering doing a beauty/nail course next year (Sep) at my local tech college. They have a good variety of courses but this is making it harder to decide which one to do. I would like to work within the beauty industry as soon as I can and therefore would be looking for the courses which would make me employable.

The courses that they are offering include:
  • NVQ2 Beauty Therapy
  • NVQ2 Nail Services (and NVQ3)
  • Level 3 Holistic Massage
I like the idea of doing the nail and massage courses but I'm wondering if I would be beter with the general course first.

Any advice on what I could/should is most welcomed

Hope this is in the correct place

It really does audopend hun, Are you more interested in Beauty therapy or Nail technician.

If i am very honest with you if you was very interested in becoming a nail technician i would do a course with CND (creative nail design) as there quality of nail training is 110% And I myself think their nail training is better than College training.

Just my opinion of course

I think that the courses you have looked into will give you a good foundation to build upon, once you have completed these...

It depends on the college and tutors,though...i myself did the same courses, with VTCT and ITEC and had a mixture of good and bad, however,if you are very serious about this industry, building upon the skills you have will only reap more benefits....converting to different nail systems afterwards, and advanced skincare and waxing skills are highly desirable by employers....or if you intend on being self employed, the pitfalls can be a minefield, but being tough and having the guts and business acumin is a strong atribute to have.

I wish you luck:hug:

Hi there
I'm going to do a nail technician course at college in the evening starting in September and I too have found myself a bit confused. I would contact the college themselves and see what people who have done the course before have gone on to do? they usually have advisors who are able to help with questions!

xx
