Hi everyone. I have decided to retrain as a nail technician after being obsessed with nails for as long as I can remember lol. Love having my acrylics and doing different techniques such as nail wraps, Konad stamping and water marbeling (so messy but so much fun!!)

I am a single mum with not alot of support so I was thinking about taking the Essential Nails at home course to get the basics down then doing a conversion course with Capital. Does that sound feasable?

Would love to do a CND course but the nearest is Edinburgh and it is just not possible. Also I cannot afford to do the CND straight out.

I am not completely new to nail tech as I started a Level 1 beauty course a few years ago but moved abroad so I have some knowledge and I am a whizz with google for information but I know there is alot still to learn.

Ultimately I want to set up as a mobile technicial specialising in encapsualted acrylic nail art as there is a big demand opening up for it up here at the moment and only 1 or 2 people offer it but that is a long way off for me at the moment.

Any advice or suggestions very welcome!

There is CND in Aberdeen. Talk to klassyklaws who is a member here on the site ... Her name is Karen. X. Or ring Fingertips in Edinburgh who book the classes. There are quite a few educators in other parts of Scotland and all are working along with the distributor Fingertips.

Is there? That would be alot easier for me. Still couldn't afford to do the full course though but the conversion to CND I could do. Thanks.

Thank you so much! I will try to give them a ring on Friday when I don't have at least 1 tired child attached to me lol. Currently have a 3 year old laying on me watching tv. Hope I don't need to pee anytime soon coz he will not like being moved and nursery tired him out this morning lol.

Do you know if there is a distributor in Aberdeen or a training school? Trained with CND 12 years ago in Aberdeen and it was great being able to pop in past to pick up stock where as the fingertip centre are often out of stock of what we need?

There is not a distributor in Aberdeen. ANY distributor of a boyant business that sells products, have items that go in and out of stock; Fingertips is no exception and it is part of any distributor business. Many times we are not out of stock at all, but only certain sizes of an item and you made need to buy a different size to get what you want. Things come in and out on a regular basis and it is never for long. We'd love it to always be perfect, but alas life in the distributor world is not like that.

Sweet Squared send all over the country and you can always enquire from them about stock if you can't get what you want, but we certainly do not hear many complaints about stock these days. HTH

It's more because I have been looking to do my masters for a while can I do this in Aberdeen?
