hi, as i work on my feet all day i suffer from cracked heals! i soak them every night rasp them and use scholl cracked heal cream twice a day but it dosent really help! can anyone advise me on what to use please?

If the skin isnt open and sore maybe try a callus peel treatment. apply lots of cream to them at night before you get in bed and put some cotton socks on the keep the moisturiser there. Keep rasping and soaking aswel to make sure that the skin stays moisturised as if it gets dry thats when its more likely to crack. hth xx

O.K. let's try this one suggestion at a time. STOP SOAKING THEM EVERY NIGHT! Your are drying them out with all the soaking. Use your rasp sparingly and on you feet when they are dry. Put the cream you are using on your feet just before you go to bed, then put on a white cotton sock.

Try this for 14 days if your feet don't get better e-mail me (let's not have you buy anything you don't need).

One thing and this is VERY Important - don't put anything like vaseline, or a heavy petroleum product on you feet or heels - Vaseline and heavy petroleum products are just Occlusives and WILL not help

Cuecumber heel therapy seems to work for my clients ,

Flexitol heel balm - I have the same problem when I wear flip flops it works wonders and I recomend it to all my clients hth x

thanks guys, let the healing of the feet commence!:Dxx

Can i ask, which you think is the best dead skin remover, the metal buffers or the pume stone ones? Only the metal ones kind of hurt, but I heard these are better. Is that true? x

hi I know how to resolve your problem
1st thing what kind of shoes do you wear
2-how much water do you drink delly
this maight be a bit to personal but i dont want to be mean.Did you do any diet or you are over weight. Next have you done a professional pedicure but not CND beauty profesional pediure with nail drill.
Never use metal foot file an pumex stone when you have craced heels .If you use ever file when you want to reduce stratum coneum - dead skin use it but only in the on direction of breaking skin never left -right or right to left it get it worst.
Next you can use pure lanolin and applyed into beraks or this is a very important wash your feet as quick as you can if you soak them too long skin will be to macerated and it get worst .Use a good foot cream that mean with high dose of urea acid and lanolin 2-3 a day for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks you at night more thicker in at morning thinner this ingridients help skin to heal fast. Wear only cotton socks.I am register Health Foot Practitioner. I would like to pologize for my english but i am still learning

up-date on my heals... flexitol is working wonders! thanks girls!!! x

Hi! Now, I agree with the above, stop soaking them evernight.

There are three things you need to do, i have even enclosed a youtube clip to demonstrate..PLEASE fast foward it to 7.13 as that is where the below is illustrated.

a) get something with BETA HYDROXY ACID - in it. Apply over your feet. This is a chemical exfoliant. Now when I say chemical don't be alarmed, it is one of the most researched ingredients in Skin care, with ample scientific research proving its benefits.

BHA is oil-soluble and can penetrate into the pore exfoliating accumulated skin cells that clog pores and can also exfoliate on the surface of skin as well. It is best for skin types prone to blackheads and blemishes Apply to your heels - not a lot just a small amount, every night and then put some thickly emollient moisturiser 10 min after you have applied the BHA product.

b) Something SUPER emollient such as a coco butter or shea butter moisturiser, something like palmers coco or shea butter.

Put socks on and let it sink in overnight. Do this every night for 1-2 weeks. You will DEFINATELY see a HUGE difference. Now, from here on out you can continue to use the BHA every second or third night just to keep the dead and dry skin cells from forming but it is not neccessary to use MOISTURISER each night. You can if you want to. It will benefit you - YOu will notice

c) keep a pedi file somewhere, and 2-3 times a week or as often as you feel necessary, FILE OFF the dead skin on the heel.

It is lengthy, but essentially you need a BHA, pedi file and shea/coco butter. You wil never have cracked heels again.

Hope this helps

just on a side note, occlusive moisturisers are great, because it prevents moisture loss, and considering you dont have pores and black heads on your heals there is no reason not to use them. There is NO reason what so ever to prove that occlusive moisturisers are bad for your heels, in fact the prevention of moisture loss and barrier it creates, and the softness it provides is a benefit. I have just finished a bachelor degree and am a dermatologist so I actually know what I am talking about, not just someone whose done a 6 week course or anything like that. Thought I'd try to clear that up :)
