hi guys just need your advice, ive had a client in and i did a fullset of acrylic using pink powder (creative, retentsion +). she can in for any infill and i did the usually blended the regrowth and smoothed it all and then infilled and put the stress area back to where it should be. that all went fine.

then 2 weeks later she came in for an infill she noticed on the plastic nail tips on the underside you could see like cracks or lines. i looked and she was right, im not sure why that is?

i thought maybe the tips were to curved for her nails (but surely that wouldnt take a month to show)

i didnt over buff and expose the tip so its not that

they were long but not ridiculous.

i said i wasnt 100% sure and id ask you fellow geeks advice and let her know.

oh my clients love the fact i have this web site to be able to confirm and chat to you all, were luck really xxx

did you use a well-less tip?
was it a clear tip or which one?

i used natural tips with a small well, the splits/cracks are after the well

xx

Did you get scrubfresh on the tips when you originally did them?
That will cause them to crack.

oh i might have cos ive only just read that up recently. only thing is why has it takes til her 2nd infill to show? crazy! nightmare xx

Ask your client if she has worn polish and removed it before coming back to you for the infill,
if she has got acetone under the tips this will cause them to crack hth

she had the same polish on that i put on just a natural glaze

xx

Using an acetone based product can cause tips to splinter/break.

scrubfresh, acetone or tips were too small for her nail beds...

all cause splitting and splintering vertically down the tip.
