Hi everyone.
I have trained with NSI, but im not sure whether i should change to Creative as it is used in many places. Can you recomend me anything? Whether to stay with NSI or Creative?
Please Help me!
Thanks
Sarah xx

hi,

i use creative for my nail enhancements and i know theres lots of salons in the area who do too but there are also lots who use nsi all as successful as each other. i think its just preference if you're happy with the nail system you use then why change. i would say if you did change to creative you wouldnt be dissapointed but nsi are also a good system from what i can see of the salons. no harm in doing a conversion course and seeing what you think of both ive considered doing that to see what nsi are like.

The two producs are actually quite different to each other.

I think where CND scores the highest is is durablity and how they last and how easy they are to use and file. All these things make a big difference to the salon artist if maybe not to the customer.

Customers can be happy when they know no different, but you can't fool a working nail tech. :green: If she/he finds a product is easier to work wiih, that they have less problems with service breakdown and that the nails last better and longer for their clients .. they are going to use it.

I'd be happy to help if you would like a demo of any CND products, or a conversion class, or just a chat.

cnd also do a full range on mani and pedi products, polishes, hand creams etc so you can kit your whole salon out and it looks so professional. They do great wee minis for xmas and their posters are really classy looking. They also do opaque powders in cool, warm and neutral so you can extend nail bed etc whereas nsi only have a cover pink they brought out recently. hth

I have been using NSI for 4 years and have never had any problems with it. I use both L&P and Gels. I use alot of the opaque powders as they do a nice Purely pink masque (see my pics) and a pink masque which is a cooler colour plus you can custom blend to get the desired look i have used brown acrylic to darken for an african and asian clients and they have turned out well I will try and get a pic. The gels are nice and easy to use and although they do have a pink cover gel they are bringing a cool one out soon. Plus they have just introduced the new Illusion Gels I have ordered mine cant wait for it to arrive!! Only you can decide on what works best but like the old saying goes 'If it aint broke why fix it?' CND have a very good reputation and are renowned for its strength beauty and durability. NSI for me also has that! Why not be a Tech that offers something different that way your clients come to you as people do like a change. For the ones that dont, then you just need to get the word of mouth working in your favour and they will sure come to check you out!! Good luck with what ever you decide. Becci.

Hi everyone,
thank you for all of your help.
I think i will stay with NSI at the minute, as i have a lot of products with them and i cant afford to change my whole range as it cost me over 400 pounds!! If i do have problems with NSI one day, then i will change to Creative and i could perhaps buy a demo from you geeg.
Thank you so much for your help, i just wasnt sure whether NSI was as good as CND but obviously not everyone only thinks about creative!

I just tryed my demo of Creative today and i personally find it a lot easier to work with and I will be switching.

I do love NSI's coloured acrylics though and will continue to use them:)

I've trained with both CND and NSI, (CND first, i had several issues but thats a whole other story lol). i havent had any trouble with NSI for years now. as far as strength and durability, ive not seen any noticeable difference. I also find application and filing very smooth with NSI products. the range of colors is great also, both for l&p and gel. I would definitely stick with it if i were you, you wont be disappointed! if you have any questions about any NSI products feel free to ask, ive used them all:)

I trained with both but tend to use NSI as they quality is excellent but half the cost of CND. Although there are lots of CND products i couldnt live without.....

i love nsi products and there customer service is second to none,i couldnt be without it.x

Hi there

I use NSI products and have been more than happy with them, however I havent used CND so couldnt compare, I`ve heard wonderful things regarding CND so I guess its down to personal choice, in my case I was trained using NSI so have just stuck with that range as I have had no problems.

To be honest I feel that this thread is always going to be a threat of 2 sides NSI and CND, which I dont think is going to help you make your decision.

What I would say is if your happy why change?
If you want to try CND call S2 and as for a trial pack and have a go.

No one can make your decision for you hun
Good luck with what ever you do

i agree i wasnt going to reply but felt i should only to back up nsi.this thread is always going to be two sided so if you want more info on the brands then either do a search on here as there is loads of threads similar to this or phone the companies direct.
to be hoenst though if you are not having any problems with the brand you are using then i personally wouldnt change.xx

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for all of your help. I was just worried that NSI wasnt as good as CND but now i know that ive got a good product, im happy enough to stay with NSI. ÇThank you for all of your help. If i have any more questions then ill ask you.
Maybe im not applying the gel properly and thats why it doesnt last. Any questions?
What do you think is a better tip for NSI? French Fins? French white tips or white elation tips?
Do you use eletric drills aswell?

You can use any tips with the NSI Gels but dont use white gel on a white tip as it will not cure properly. I assume you mean your having problems with the gel on tips as you state which ones best to use? Make sure when applying the gel you buff the tip as gel wont stick to a shiny surface then apply as normal. The NSI fin tips i once used with my l&p to help create a neat smile line but not used with the gel system, I sculpt alot more now with both systems as for me its quicker and easier. Some one may come along to help you with that one. HTH's Bec x

Sarah, just thought Id let you see another thread where this was discussed, and you can read my views:

If you are having problems with your gel, it is likely to be your application and something that you need to discuss with your educator.

There are so many things you need to take into consideration when deciding on a brand, the products are only as good as the support network around them.

I changed from NSI to CND for all sorts of reasons, if I can help in anyway please give me a shout.

have you thought about using nsi brush on white gel rather than white tips? i apply mine with a dotting tool and if i need to then sweep my smile line with a clean brush but i very rarely need to as i feel i have good control of the product whe using a dotting tool rather than a brush.
if you are really struggling then i would phone nsi as they will be able to help you.xx

Sarah, I would try using clear tips. Clear tips allow the UV light to penetrate from the top and bottom of the enhancement, so your white gels (or other heavily pigmented gels) will cure properly. You could probably get away with using white tips with a clear or transparent pink gel though.

I'd be happy to troubleshoot gels with you if you need some help. Feel free to PM me.

This is actually not correct. There is a price difference that when measured properly does exist, but is certainly no where near the degree that some make out to believe. Heck, the difference in professional costs for maintenance products is pence. Those interested in CND cost per service can contact S2 for the new brochure that outlines this.

There are many cost factors to be looked at if price is the driving factor when shopping for a brand. The most important is your time. If a product takes longer to apply or requires more time and effort to maintain, then saving pence on the cost of application is a false economy because your time is far more expensive than products you use.

Ultimately the decision should be based on common sense. Use the system that meets or exceeds your expectations at the best possible price. Depending on how you work, a cheaper product may yield the same performance as a more expensive product, but this is not a universal rule, its a personal one (nor is it a limitation of either system, its usually one of the professional). Keep the choice in context to. For instance, a Ford will get you to the same place as a Ferrari. If all you want in a car is to travel from Point A to Point B, go for the Ford. If you want performance and style, Ferrari's are a pretty damn hot way go :D

So as mentioned, do your research when choosing brands, but don't short sell yourself by not looking at the big picture. Also though this has been mentioned its worth repeating: Brand vs. Brand questions on any forum will mainly elicit fans of either side voicing their preference ;) While this can be good to get some viewpoints, its only one method for researching your chosen brand.

Best of luck :)

No i mean for acrylic aswell... For acrylic ive been using the french fins, but im not sure wether to use french white tips or elation white tips. What do you all use and prefer? _Have you ever applied a white tip and then just applied pink product over the top? Or do you recommend to apply white on top of the tip? Which is better for doing backfills/rebalance etc....
I need help!
xx
