Hi
I know this has been asked previously but as both are relatively new products I thought there may be more feed back now as more technicians train and start offering the treatment
Can anyone let me know which of the 2 permanent mascaras they prefer?
I already specialise in eyelash enhancements and think this treatment would fit nicely with my existing treatments but I can't decide who to train with.
Cry Baby seems more expensive £495 + Vat for a 1/2 day course!
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Hey, I have never used myscara so I cant comment on the product. I am trained in Cry Baby. Its quite hard to get to grips with it at first, I was reluctant to pay all that money for the course and was scared it was going to be a waste of money and at first I thought "oh my god this is hard!" but having done around 25 treatments I have got the hang of it, the product is great, you can mix it yourself so you can make the product thicker or thinner for a fuller or more natural look.

I think the main thing is to believe in the product, I did lots of research and decided on cry baby as its been around longer, so there is more known about it. I also like the fact you use a machine to help dry the product and it aids in doing the bottom lashes without causing the eyes to sting.

One bit of advice I would give is explain exactly what the product will look like on..i.e it looks exactly like mascara NOT extentions! When the client fully understands the product there is less of a chance of them being dissapointed if they think its going to make lashes look 10 times longer etc, and some do! the 1 downside to this product? The lashes feel quite rigid..not as flexable as when they have normal mascara on.. this bothers some and doesnt bother others.. this will be the same for any semi-permanent mascara I would imagine. Hope that helped!

Thanks for the reply
I've now also come across Xaggerate Semi Permanent Mascara which you mix yourself like Cry Baby
Any opinions or experience of this product & training would also be great
Thanks

I also wondered if other companies use a machine to stop the eyes stinging? If anyone knows? x

Hi Nikki
What sort of machine is it & what does it do?
Sorry I've not done any training in this product as yet!
Thanks

I have done myscara training and it's a fab product my clients are loving it . No stinging and very easy to get to grips with. The training was excellent too.

Hi I done my training with xaggerate and they were brill, can fault the training and the product is fab :)

I think it is really hard to get any comparison unless you have used all of the different brands, which would cost a fortune to do!

I trained with Xaggerate after looking at what was available and as I was Flirties trained it made sense to go with them knowing the customer service and backup available. I am really happy with the product but that doesn't mean the others aren't just as good.

At some point a decision has to be made and it is not easy all of the time and sometimes the more research you do the more confused you can become. :wink2:

Hi Nikki

The eyes should not be stinging at anytime during a SPM treatment no matter what brand you are using. At what point during the treatment are they stinging? Are you speaking as a client who is having the treatment done or as a therapist who is carrying out the treatment? x

The resin you mix the fibres with to make the paste to put on the lashes causes the eyes to sting when still wet. Just like a semi permanent lash glue would if you were doing the bottom lashes I imagine. The machine cry baby provide you with blows a very very fine mist into the eye which prevents any stinging at all and also dries the product quicker. You can tease the wet lashes to flick out more at the side by holding the lash out at the corner with the implement and bowing it with the machine and it will dry in that position. Very good if the client has lashes that cross over (especially the bottom ones) you hold lash in place after the product has been applied and dry with the blower and they lash will stay put. the blower also cuts your application time as it dries the product quicker.

But as I say OI can only comment on Cry Baby I havent tried any other product so i couldnt say if cry baby is better or worse but if you have any further questions feel free to ask. :) xx

Leemac..
The eyes would sting when doing the bottom lashes as they eye has to be opened slightly.. or if i had done the top lashes and got the client to open their eyes too quickly before the product has dried. But they provide the machine to prevent this. Maybe the resin is stronger than the other brands and thats why the eyes sting if the machine is not used. But the machine has other benefits also as mentioned above.

The machine used for drying the crybaby can also be used at the end of the appointment for applying lash extension as it speeds up the curing process of the glue.

Elliebee that sounds like a great idea, do you think you would be able to apply lashes on the bottom lids with this machine if it stops any stinging of the eye? Or should that just be avoided completely as glue too strong anyway? X

how do you easy do you find the treatment and how long does it take? i mainly do nails and i find EE an absolute pain in the arse i find them fiddly!

do you find it easier to apply?

are there any down sides to this treatment? x

Personally, if I was doing lower lash extensions with eyes open I would use a low odour glue.

I think that even with the Crybaby machine, client would have a bit of eye watering if you used your normal glue with eyes open. This would also lead to over sensitivity to the stronger glue in the long term. x
