Does anyone offer this treatment or had a successful course of treatments ?

I am booked in for a treatment on Tuesday as im hoping it will be successful for my acne scarring and sun damage but I had heard it can also be used as an anti ageing facial ?

I want to start offering non surgical facelifts but caci is way out of my price range and im not familiar with any other systems other than what ive seen in the wholesaler catalogues.

Have you contacted CACI as they do very reasonable deals. I bought mine over three years and from the beginning I earnt a profit even after the monthly hire-purchase payment. I believe they also do a rental system as well now? It's worth contacting them & getting someone from CACI to come out & explain the various deals. Although they are obviously more expensive than some others, they are better known & that in itself helps to sell the treatments. In my last salon they even sent someone out to help us run a promotional demonstration day from which we got quite a few bookings.

I love Crystal Clear, the facials are fantastic, clients love it and the company is brilliant to deal with. They have launched an anti-ageing range earliar this year which is fab. and I use myself. Can't recommend them highly enough!

We offer MDA in our medispa. In all honesty, to actively treat acne/acne scarring and/or sun damage you are going to need more than one treatment. I would suggest a minimum of 6 - 8 txs. If you are just looking for a skin refresher than one treatment is great. Just depends on what your expectations are. If you have bad acne scarring then IPL/fraxel lazer treatment or chemical peel in combination with MDA can be extremely effective. Obviously this will be costly though. I do get really annoyed by salons promising great results with various fantastic treatments after one session - simply ain't gonna happen. Also, look at the science behind certain 'anti ageing' facials - particularly ones which use 'micro currents'. There is no sound medical basis to these therapies - except perhaps a hole in your wallet. The best anti ageing treatment - SPF! (I know some of you will groan at me)!

I hate to differ, but there have been many clinical studies into the effects of micro-current in wound healing, as well as in increasing ATP levels, fibroblast activity, increased protein synthesis & increased cell permeability, all of which aid in the improvement of skin condition. There are a number of dermatologists, including one who is a client of mine, who are happy with the science behind them & would recommend them. CACI have certainly always been happy to provide me with the independent research papers demonstrating such results.

Thank you for the replies.

I had the Crystal Clear Treatment and im not to sure about it to be honest:confused: My skin doesn't look any different to a normal facial and to be honest I have less blackheads after a Dermalogica or Decleor facial. I totally appreciate that a course is needed to see the full benefits but im not convinced I want to part with £300 for this treatment. Also totally seperate issue but I have never been to such a pushy salon in my life. Im suprised I got out alive !!

Martin I would LOVE to have Caci but the only machine in my price range (on a rental agreement) was a reconditioned MK I machine, I don't even think ive seen a MK I but it sounds pretty old and bulky to me !! Since college which was 6 years ago Ive only ever seen the blue computerised models which is what id of wanted.

bombini,
I wouldn't expect you to see tangible results after one treatment - which reiterates my point. Doesn't mean its no good - just expectations have not been managed correctly.

Martin,
I agree with a lot of your points. Micro current is used by physiotherapists to aid a lot of sports injury. I am not discrediting this treatment on a whole - that was not my point - again its about realistic expectations - there is no medical evidence to support long term beneficial use for the purpose of non surgical face lift. VERY DIFFERENT! I work with a lot of extremely reputable cosmetic drs and surgeons. I have trained with a lot of them. And I can categorically say a lot of claims are completely unsubstantiated for long term benefits. I have no doubt that if you asked your clients and evaluated after several sessions you may see results. A lot of this is subjective. Longer term - I beg to differ. However debate is good. And, if, in future there is credible evidence to support the claims - I would even consider offering it as a tx in my medispa. However, myself, and the wider medical arena, do not support the claims. X

I have a caci ultimate. It does microdermabrasion, lift, futuretek and hydratone. Its fantastic and the clients love it. We also do botox and fillers, and unsurprisinly the caci is by far and away the most popular. As a non therapist, I can only see from a consumer perspective, and whether the wavelength is a nanobot or not, It works. There is a definate result. I kept away from crystal clear, and I'm happy with the ultimate.

I would agree - probably far better than the crystal clear (IMO)! Not going to perform a face-lift though is it - which is what my point is!

Botox is the No 1 most popular non surgical cosmetic treatment in Europe. Over 3 million treatments in the UK alone are performed each year. Followed by dermal fillers, followed by MDA. As we are a MediSpa and therefore specialise in cosmetic dermatology - I guess people come to us for these treatments as opposed to a beauty salon.

CACI no doubt is a great machine - but lets keep things realistic.

An awful lot of people are squeamish and nervous about botox and injectable fillers. Also a lot of people (the majority) don't want/ cant afford a surgical facelift. Nobody is gonna claim that a caci does the same as a surgeon. It is however a gentler, safer and less expensive way to look a bit better.
I have a qualified and experienced doctor come into my salon to do the botox ,so I don't think it's lack of popularity is anything to do with her.

I agree - its when claims to the contrary are made - and they are! Have been on here.

Regards botox and fillers - I'm not sure what you mean 'lack of popularity' - I can tell you beauty salons do not do as well with treatments such as these as specialist clinics. That is not meant in any way to refer to beauty salons as being inferior. Just a completely different speciality. It is not a personal gripe - on the contrary. There is no dispute as to the popularity of the procedure. The figures speak for themselves. On the whole though, the general public mostly seek these procedures from a permanent based specialised skin clinic, as opposed to a practitioner who maybe travels around salons perhaps once a month. Which would explain why it is maybe not your most popular treatment. I know many salons who experience this. I'm sure your salon/salons are fantastic - and I say that without any sarcasm.

Yes - people are squeamish and nervous about injectable treatments. It is my job to manage that and reassure. Once they have experienced the procedure and results - they come back, trust me!
