Hi. I usually sculpt or tip with natural tips using acrylic l&p. I've been asked to do a set using white tips.. I've searched the site and found lots of threads saying not to pull the pink over the white tip. I can't for the life of me understand how you build the apex or what holds the tip on (apart from nail glue) if no product is applied to the white tip:confused:. This is probably a really daft question, but I'll risk it!

Well you are right ... you must apply something to the white tip!! :) Usually clear or white powder followed by pink over the nail bed as usual.

ive literally just got back from doing a set on my aunty, she opted for white tips so i used that and used pink powder all over...I thought it might soften the white down a bit but to be honest it didnt really make any difference to the white at all so I dont see why you cant just use pink powder all over.

Thanks for your reply Gigi. You've put my mind at rest. This will be my first set of white tips. I don't personally like them, but some of these younger ones like you to see them coming!

This is also another option ... who said you can't do it?

ive not seen anyone say that but missie says she has, can i just say...it took me 4 and a half hours to do that set today...same as it did the other day...how the hell can i get my timings down!?!

Hi Anna. Thanks for your reply. BTW, What have I seen?

just that you have seen people saying not to pull the pink over the white.

Hi Hun,
When I do white tips or any coloured tips I just use clear all over the zones, the natural nail plate colour shows through.
If you were doing white tips using PopIts which I have on at the mo, you would fill the PopIt with clear anyway.
Tips this way can be very quick to do, keep practicing you will get your time down.
Do you get everything ready before you start?
I size up my tips in the order they are going on, products lined up in order of use, and files lined up like little soilders ready for me, with my glaze n go at the end, finally cuticle oil. That way if I get distracted (which is very esy for me) I don't then forget anything.
Best of luck
Lotsa Luv x

Whoever said it would be meaning not to pull pink over a tip covered in white POWDER. It shows.

Oh I see. It's just that it would camouflage the smile line making it blurred. OMG- I have so much to learn- Thanks guys:hug:

i think you may mean don't pull the pink over white acrylic (as opposed to white tips) -

pink over white tips are fine whether you use poppits or normal application

Hiya :) i have a few clients who will only have white tips :irked: but each to their own :) i always use clear on the tip and pink on zones 2&3 i perfer them like this and when i asked one client if i could use the pink and not clear all over she was very pleased with the result
As for your times you will get quicker honey just keep going

Intrigued - what do your clients say about rebalancing? When the white tip has grown out after 2/3 weeks? What do they want you to do and what do you do?
