Damage to thumb nails only!

Hey guys

Apologies in advance if there has already been a post like this and if it seems long winded. I promise i did search Nail structure & product chemistry by Douglas Schoon and searched through previous posts.

I met my hairdresser the other day and I was saying about my new salon opening. She said to me that she wouldn't be able to come as she can't get nail enhancements on anymore. She always used to have L&P on. She showed me her hands and her two thumb nails had come off completely. However all her other fingernails were fine.

She went back to the beauty therapists where she got her nails done and they said to go to the docs in case it was fungal. She went to the docs but the doc said no it wasn't but the cause was her immune system was so low that it could not have nail enhancements on. Which is why her nails ripped off and not to have anymore put on.

I don't do her nails but it just intrigued me as if it was her immune system would there not be damage to all her fingernails?

Not necessarily, immune system problems are peculiar and can attack any part of our bodies. It is peculiar but I had a client once who had Lupus and she had lost both big toe nails, the others looked fine! :biggrin:
