Hi...student here. I see alot of you talking about working "smart" when it comes to keeping the odors down from products... I will be going to work at a spa/salon once I graduate. My boss is concerned about the odors as I will only be doing nails about 40ft away from the hairstylists chairs. He is looking into getting an air purifyer. But I am trying to learn all I can about keeping the monomer odors down because I don't believe I'll be able to learn how to do a good set of nails with the odorless.

Questions:

#1
Dappen dishes with Lids? What kind do ya'll use? Do they make any with the lids that stay attatched or "pump" type for monomers? Any suggestions on what type or brand you all use, website links?

#2
Also, I've seen mention of using "pad" dappened in sanitizer instead of using a dry paper towel to wipe brushes on....what exactly are you meaning by using a "PAD"?

Sorry to seem so ignorant, but...well I suppose I still am. heehee:lol:

No 1. I use a metal dappen dish with a metal lid or a glass one with a lid. Pumps are the worst to use as they create allot of odour.

No 2. I use the Nail Techs choice gauze pads from Sweet Squared 08452106060 .. I could not do my job without them. No no to cotton pads because of the fibers. You do not want fibers in your product.

PS air purifiers do NOTHING ... you need extraction ventilation which is why all manufacturers recommend it.

Everything you need to know about minimizing odours is right here on this site.

Thanks so much. I will tell the salon owner about the extraction. They've never had a nail tech in their salon, and I'm still in school so I can't really tell them anything either, so thank you again. Yes, I can definitely spend hours searching thru these forums for info!

Is an extraction ventilation system something they can buy from a beauty supplier? Got any names of any companies I can give them information about? Or any links to detailed information?
I've been googling it but not coming up with much as I really don't know what I'm searching for....thank you in advance!
