Hi
I read about the geek who had her website hacked and lost all her data, what a nightmare!
So I thought I'd post this as a reminder to all Geeks who have websites, and more importantly electronic booking systems.
If nothing else, everyone knows how feeble some of the pc's can be with crashes etc.
The e-world motto must be "back-up, "back-up, "back-up"!
I know it's a pain, but there really should be a daily or weekly backing up regime in place.
It'll soon become second nature, Cash-up, Back-up, Set the alarm and head off home with the most precious salon investment (your client database) on a stick in your handbag.
It can be done automatically with a small programme, set to run say, at midnight every day, just remember to put a new stick in, or dvd each day/week, and your data will be safe.
Ideally, you should take the copy home with you, in-case of the worst (fire or theft at salon).
Remember, the lifeblood of a salon in the client base.
Good luck, and keeeeeeep Geeking!
