Hi I am currently doing my nvq 2 Beauty therapy at college full time, have done a nail enhancements course already and doing my spray tanning training on thursday this week :)

In between studying I am in the process of setting up working from home in a room in our extension (has seperate shower room and toilet so perfect). I will be offering all of the treatments I am working towards this year and only one treatment from level 3 (full body massage).

The big decision is do I do a full year at college to do level 3 when i only want the massage qualification, and regardless I am not looking to work for anyone else so wouldn't need it to work in a salon.
Anybody been in my situation and what did you do?

Thanks in advance
Kerrie x

I would just do a massage course hun.

it depends what you want to do in the future..

most salons want level 3 qualified in beauty or holistics
then again..they only want level 3 for the massage part.
if you ever want to teach u have to have level 3 to progress to do teaching qual.

if you deffo know you don't want to teach then your ok..

Many thanks for your replies, yes I think i will just do a massage course as I definitely don't want to teach or work for anyone else.
I can always go back and do it in a few years time if i think I need it then.

i did holistics and it was fab... all i wanted was the massage but now im so glad i did the course because reflexology and aromatherapy are amazing!!!!
plus you can use the aromatherapy as an equivalent treatment to the body massage

just do the massage.
