Deo 1000 heater what setting

I bought the Deo 1000cc wax heater to use for paraffin wax hand/foot treatments. I got it from Capital and they recommended it as I cud use it for normal waxing treatments also if I ever branched out. It has an inner pot and I have bought wax pellets as another salongeek member recommended them as they're quicker to melt. However all I have control wise is 1-6 on a dial.so I rang Deo who suggested put it to 6 then turn down to 4oncemelted. The wax was too hot to use on my friend. I turned it down and the wax solidified. Has anyone else got this and what setting do you use? X

I've said this before, but the best thing you can do is buy a dedicated paraffin bath. It melts the paraffin but keeps it at a low enough temp to work with.
