Hi Every1

I was wondering what mobile therapists do about deposits and what their cancelation policy is

Thanks Sam xx

I recommend stating in your price brochures that there will be a charge for late cancellations eg. 50% for less than 24 hours notice and 100% if you have made the journey in your car to find the client is not at home or forgot etc......

We are all forgetful at times or run into genuine emergencies, therefore I personally would allow a first time offender off. But if it looks like it may become habitual then state that you will have to charge or take a deposit.

Enforcing it is another thing .

I agree that you must state your policies for late cancellations and no-shows in your literature. At the time of the appointment scheduling, you should consider asking your clients for their Visa or MC number, explaining your policy and advising that their card will be billed for $XXX for their "booking or reservation deposit" and if they're a no-show, or don't call to reschedule within XXXX hours before the appointment, then their card will be charged $XXX. This is what I do and because of it, I always get the phone call to reschedule and they always follow up to book the new appointment because I've already charged their card a "reservation or booking fee". Things DO happen, that's for sure, but you're running a business, gas is expensive and time is money. My business model isn't harsh, it's business! I've cut ladies some slack and quite frankly, I'm not sure how much they appreciated it as they don't always realize that if we're not working, we're not making any money. Have I lost any clients over this? Not that I KNOW OF... I'm really, really dedicated to customer-satisfaction with follow-up postcards offering them a special for returning. love, kelly
PS I get all the freebie postcards that www.VistaPrint.com continues to offer every day of the week
