hey i've just been searching for retail to start up my salon with.
I came across Detixify which Beauty Express are selling atm which claims to detox your body and helps you sleep, it comes in a 5 day course for £12.50, and i just wondered if anyone has used these patches and if they actually work because it's not a great plan to sell stuff that doesnt work to clients lol but if it does work i'm sure clients would love the quick fix like everyone else :D
thanks x

You are in the beauty industry.A lot of the time you just have to use your own common sense.

Debbie I know little about this type of thing, but £12.50 sounds very cheap for what this is proposing. Why don't you try it yourself and see if it works. Let us all know.

I think you have to be very careful with the word detox when being truthful to clients. What exactly are you saying will happen. There are certain buzz words that are in the industry that crop up and become the in thing but what do they actually mean.
We must remember as professionals and business owners we are as vulnerable as the public to hype and we are also often the middle men and we need to choose what treatments we do and invest in carefully.
There are so many other retail opportunities that do work for little investment and big profit and you wont be left feeling you havent done right by your clients.
I find professional files, cuticle oil, after wax lotion and lavender essential oil sell well and i dont stock retail i just get asked for these things and then puchase then on request.

Will it work - in a word NO!

Think about what it is actually saying. 'Detox' is often banded about, along with words such as 'natural' and 'organic' which actually mean very little.

Medically - if we had 'toxins' in our body needing 'rid of' we would be in intensive care or worse! This is hype. Don't get sucked in by it. Follow a healthy balanced diet. We are not full of toxins!

i've seen these type of things in the catalogue that has been sent out to me with my flirties products. also for things like breast enhancement and slimming etc and to be honest, i'd be very wary. if all these issues are quick and easy to solve by taking a tablet or putting a patch on your foot then there would be nobody going to plastic surgeons or to weight loss specialist groups/drs would there? if you really are set on getting them then try them yourself first and see if there are any effects after using the products. x

Yeah I was thinking the same myself, didn't expect it to work but thought because it was beauty express then it might. Never mind though got plenty other stuff for retail cheers evry1
