Wondering if somebody here can clear up my confusion. I know that when somebody says they are going to go get a "fill" for their nails this means they need to go and have that gap filled in from where their nails grew out near the cuticle.

But what is a "back fill"... is that the exact same thing as a "fill"? Somebody told me a "fill" and "back fill" are two different things but that makes no sense to me. Thanks.

It's the same thing Infill, backfill & I have heard refill before too

Actually, a "fill" and a "backfill" are not the same thing. These are generally American terms for "infill" and "french rebalance". A fill is what you said, filling in the gap at the cuticle area. A backfill is done on french nails that have grown out, where the white is moved back to original position, and then the cuticle area is filled in also.

Correct! A 'back fill' (such an ugly term) is a Forever French Rebalance (so much nicer and more professional sounding to my way of thinking:green:)

I don't like fill either and prefer maintenance or rebalance.

Which do you think is nicer and more professional and more representative of how we want to be seen in our industry? Which would you prefer on YOUR service menu?

Fill vs Rebalance
Back fill vs Forever French
Fake nails vs Nail Enhancement
false nails vs Nail Enhancement
extensions vs Nail Enhancement
soak off vs removal
Pink & White vs Forever French or French
My 3 o clock vs Mrs Brown
nail bed extension vs Custom Blend Manicure
My lady vs Mrs Brown

Can you think of any others?

Just going by what my competitors in my area class as backfill/infill/fill/refill. I actually use the term rebalance as I think it sounds more professional.

My 3 oclock threw me for a minute there! started thinking what kind of nail is that then!! lol the vs thing would make a good thread! x

A salon next door to where I work has 'take off' and 'take off and redo' on their service menu!

Dont mean so sound harsh but (take off) and (redo) sounds so comman ,dont you think.lol.xx:hug:

So if I ask for a french rebalance... this means the white french tip is re-done of course... but this also includes a fill near the cuticle gap, right? So "french rebalance" is really a back fill AND a fill but more fancy/professional sounding.

Just making sure I got this down right :)

Thanks.
