Different courses

well i want to know what you think or what you know....
i did a course at a local college it was a nail treatment course run by
vtct.
I then went to ireland so didnt do the nail tech course but have now gone to an enrolement day and was told id have a place only to then get a call to say everything had to be checked as the course has changed form vtct over to itec...
Something that is worrying me.
I dont see how a course run by a college so i could further train in what i want to do which is nail tec... as you know you cant do one without first spending a year doing the other... and to then find they changed courses and it may be that the vtct nail treatments may not be adequate or up to the itec manicure pedicurist course....... has anyone else any knowledge in this field or is there anyone who knows the rights and wrongs of it all..
i just find it shocking if ive spent a year doing the first course and the same college has now changed courses and there old one wont match needed criteria for there new ones to carry on.
i hope ive got this so you can understand the question..
please give me some reason to be optimistic. the course starts next week.
By the way i dont think i told you all that i passed even as ive not been on or around to tell you. i cant wait to start.........

I did the VTCT nail treatments course at college and it is a very thorough course in my opinion.

Does ITEC have a student helpline that you can ring to make enquiries?

Here is a link to the ITEC web pages with all tutor and student guidance notes on for the ITEC Level 3 Nail Technicians course. It may give you information about what qualifications you need to do the course. It may be that you need a full level 2 qualification in one of the systems first as this is the case at my local college.

firstly thanks vry much gilly T for your reply.
Itec were unable to help me to start with .......... nor did vtct.
I have a level 2 vtct but they were unsure if it would be the equivalent to there itec level 2 manicure pedicure but for anyone else wondering, now they recieved my certificates they say im fine to go to the new course
itec nail tech level 3... hurray...
im in dorset so not a wide range of places to have to re start. and ohh
what a waste of a year it would have been which is why i couldnt compahend them not knowing........and even the educational facility making sure that all would be good for previous learners before they changed course structures...
