I did the ITEC Beauty specialist diploma a few years back, was 2 evenings a week for a year, which wasn't too bad as a i was working full time in the days. I got it free at college because i was under 19 at the time. :)

Hi,
I work during the day and have kids to ferry about so a college course did not fit in with my lifestyle.

I have done my training at The Carlton Institute and gained their recognised diplomas so was able to gain my insurance and perform my treatments. I am am now studying with The Carlton Institute for my IHBC (International Health and Beauty Council) qualification which is similar to NVQ's but is internationally recognised as we are eventually aiming for Australia. I beleive you could take this route of just their diplomas and then from home take the NVQ equivilent if you wanted to.

It involves gaining case samples and producing a portfolio then submitting this. Once this has been marked you are invited for an exam then a practical test.

Hope this helps - good luck

thank you yes this has really helped x
