Ive had a few clients come for Hollywood toes for there holiday but they are coming back discoloured?! i assume its the sun/heat, can it be prevented?

Thanks
Sarah Jane

While they have been on hols they may have used oils etc that are slightly bronzing and spend a lot of time in the pool.
Do they use false tan on return or visit sunbeds using creams to top up the tan?? Quite often this is a reason mate.

what is hollywood toes for you?

Hollywood Toes are gel nails with a french look.

One of the women it happened to never uses false tan or sunbeds and went swimming in a natural lake but not a pool however she did have her toe nails exposed to the sun a lot. The other women again doesnt use false tan or sunbeds but did use a swimming pool.
Could the suncream discolour the nails? Is there anyway of prevention that you know of?

Thanks

Sarah Jane

What prep and products did you use hun?
(Can't see it on your profile is why I've asked)

I was thinking the same as Judy... some brands do yellow in certain light rays!

As you can see I live and work in Spain which has just a little bit of sun !!! I wear Creative's Brisa toes and each set lasts about 6-8 weeks, and I do LOADS on clients and they have NEVER had this problem so I think it may be the system you are using hun! (sorry!)

Yeah just rub it in that you are in the SUN Sass:lol:
Seriously though I too have worn EzFlows gel it on my toes on hols and never had the problem am the same as Sass...and I am a serious sunworshipper on holiday.....with bronzing oils.
My bad.
Don't shout.... I like a tan:)

I was using NSI gel and i did the recommended prep with nail pure and primer, ive now moved to 'The Edge' but not had anyone have there toes done for their hols just yet.....

I'm with Sass on this one. I wear Brisa toes, I just got back off my holidays where I was in the pool, using sun creams etc, and they look as clean and bright as the day they were applied. I've used NSI myself and I'm not keen, the quality is nowhere near as good as Brisa, I would recommend them.

will have a look into them when i run out of 'The Edge' i thought NSI had a good reputation?

Did you put anything over them like 'Thermoshield'? I have used this NSI product a few years ago and stopped using it as clients nails were going a greyish colour (over L&P Attraction). It buffed off with a file though.
Just a thought?

Certainly NSI are one of the recognised brands, and I'm not saying that they're crap, but one of the reasons I like Creative products is that they are miles better than the other market leaders such as NSI (in my opinion!). There will be other techs on here who will tell you they use NSI and they love it, have no problems etc, but I have sampled the NSI gel and l&p systems, and whilst they create acceptable enhancements, I find that the Creative systems are miles ahead in terms of finish and durability.

Brisa toes will last & last, no problem with sun, creams or pools ..... Do all of my clients with it & not one problem x

Whenever I go abroad even if i just paint my toes they end up discoloured, so I'd say its the heat

thanks guys :) will certainly look into Brisa!!

If you use a hard gel (buff off) i recommend you use NSI glaze and Go I live in spain and use it on all my clients nails to protect the nail and to prevent yellowing its excellent and iv never had any problems.

File the nail (no need to buff) and apply a generous layer then cure for 90sec

Hope this helps
