Seeing that it is Saturday and some people have lives....and I don't  I thought I would ask this question....

We are going to Disneyland, Paris for Christmas week...( 22 - 27 Dec ). We have booked the half board plus option which gives us about 14 restaurants to chose from within the hotels/Disney Parks.

Now I know from experience from going in February this year you have to book in advance for most of these restaurants...which I know you can do when you arrive, at the concierge desk....

but...with this being Christmas time I want to do it in advance... ( I tried to book one restaurant in July...and the lovely sexy sounding french operator laughed his head off and said to try booking in October! )

So...eventually I get to my question....:green:

Has anyone been to DLP at Christmas and if so any advice on booking restaurants at this time?

Which restaurants did you like best?

What did you do for Christmas day?

Anything else you can give to me regarding visiting at Christmas?

We have vouchers for Christmas Eve to go to Cafe Mickey, we had to book that separately... ( Europeans celebrate Christmas Eve more than Christmas Day ) and we are staying in the Newport Bay Hotel....( only hotel to accomodate my brood... ) last time we stayed in Sequioa Lodge...we were upgraded and had the most fantastic time...lovely hotel rooms...so I am a little apprehensive about the hotel and time of year...
It was such a successful holiday we had in February...I want to make sure we have it just as good this time.

I have Googled and searched everything....but I wanted to see if my fellow geeks had anything they could add...:green: You are all so helpful in everything so fingers crossed....

xxxxxx

Do you know what Jo,in all the time i go to and from Paris, ive never been:eek:

My husband is more the authority on this as he took his dad....i have to say it wasnt my cup of tea...but recently ive asked him if we can go...!

There is a ride called "its a small world
after all",and i know i would go on this as i prefer a "quiet" ride...LOL

Apparently my husband says its fabulous for kids, absolutely fabulous:lol:

Its very very expensive to eat in the park,as its about £6 for a hot dog:eek:

I bet you will love it Jo,and its a shame we cant meet up,as i will be in Pamplona in Spain for christmas...LOL:lol:

I got so giddy reading that :!: Whooo they have IT'S A SMALL WORLD in Florida too :D it's brill :D :D :D Just that little reminder of a ride put a huge smile om my face and took me right back there, god i sound stupid lol

Oh btw, sorry i have nothing sensible to add Jo but have a great time

ooooh Gabi...hope you enjoy Pamplona...

I too didn't actually want to go when we went in February this year...wasn't my type of thing...but hubby had a mad moment and suggested it...within 5 minutes it was booked!!! We decided to drive ( with 4 kids in the back...madness...had to leave the 5th behind because she couldn't fit LOL )

It ended up being the best holiday ever...hubby and I were the biggest kids ever...seeing the characters had us rushing up like excited kids...while our own un-excited kids thought we had lost it!!!!

'It's a small world' was my favourite ride...slow and gentle and cute...

I don't like rides much...I just love the atmosphere and the chance to be 'young' again... hey has Adele been?... * legging it *

Hubby has been to the Florida park...but he thought the Paris one was better...but him being a lazy git he probably found it easier to walk round!!!

You should go Gabi...I didn't want to and now I am addicted...plus I enjoy doing my Frenspanglish.... Hola! cafe au lait please

Becki although you had no advice for me  was nice to see you lol

Hi,
I havent been for years but am going next easter with family.
My sister goes about 4 times a year  they have an pass which the holidays are cheaper and % off restarants with this pass so when we go we will get a discount with them.

They went last halloween and stayed in different hotel including 1 night in disney hotel and picked for vip for the day with champane, flowers in room and first for queues too!!
Then went last xmas like you and had a great time... i will ask for you if you like what restarants they went to ?

you lucky things would love to go this xmas....my hubbys boss is going xmas this year too.

We went to DLP Christmas 2003. We only went for 4 nights but it was great fun. We didn't do any meals as they were really expensive so most of the time we just ate at our hotel which was a buffet service and did us just fine but we did take in Mickeys Cafe on the last day (it's a resturant not a cafe) which was fab cause all the Characters come out when you are eating and dance and stuff - we even got Plutos autograph and Tigger kept nicking my sons fries! But you do need to book for this one.

The whole feel of the place was fab with the artifical snow falling and the Christmas parade (which you need to get a space for early or you can't see) and fire works over sleeping beautys castle, BUT from what I understand these are all things that happen at the park normally, and although we reaaly enjoyed ourselves I was a little disapointed with Christmas day as it was just like any other day on the park.

Do take in the cowboy show though - that was amazing and you get a meal and cowboy hats included - yeehar!

We went just before Christmas 3 years ago and it is so beautiful..... There's a massive tree, decorations, fake snow, carols in Main Street...... Sounds tacky but so isn't......

We want to go again and go closer to Christmas because it felt so festive..... Can't help with the restaurants I'm afraid cos we were there about 3 weeks before, but I'm dead jealous that you're there for Christmas itself! :green:

we have been to dlp 4 times in the last 2 years and love it, we went just after christmas last year and my favourite restaurant is the cafe micky, it is expensive but a real experience, there is also a fab restaurant in the pirates of the caribean ride called the blue lagoon

Thanks everyone...

Katherine any info would be great....

and I never knew about the Blue Lagoon restaurant???? Must go and research that one in a mo lol...

We are all getting excited now...Christmas in Spain is a little too boring...especially for children....there isn't the commercialism which is lovely but dull LOL... no-one sends Christmas cards and they barely bother with presents... they celebrate the 3 kings on 6th January more...

so hopefully we will experience a little bit of Christmas 'tackiness' this year... my children have learnt the 'true' meaning of Christmas by the way, I feel that is important first and foremost....the nativity scenes they do here are fantastic...each village has one , the one in the pueblo here is massive...

Anyway more information will be appreciated and thanks already for those who replied....:)

Jo ,

we are going to Disneyworld for xmas this year and being such a worry wart, i had nine million questions i wanted answering.
So i joined a forum board specifically about walt disney world, and spent hours trawling thru the info, if you dont find what you want, post a thread and voila instant answer from people who go all the time, etc, menus, prices, booking info, hints and tips etc.

Theres also a paris section too (not used this one myself, but if its half as good as the usa one , it will be very helpful) link below, hths
