Hi Geeks

Can anyone please give me any pointers as to the law on disposing of files that may get blood on them?

I know that clients can get nicked and bleed slightly on files etc and that they are to be disposed of but is there a Health and Safety law with regards to the disposal of such things? Would you need to have a proper bin for them that is disposed of in a similar way to contaminated sharps?

Thanks in advance xxx

( thought I would add I do't plan on slicing and dicing people's fingers lol just brought it up in conversation with my step daughter whose fingers bleed whenever a nail tech looks at her!)

Hi, Please someone correct me if i am wrong however I was lead to believe that anything with blood or bodily fluids should be disposed of in a yellow contaminated waste bin/bag then collected by the relevant company to be incinerated the same with wax strips.
I hope this helps :)

B Hygienic - for all your washroom needs we use this company for our washroom service sani bins ect they also do medical waste from tattoo parlours nursing homes ect, they are nationwide, and are very reasonable
As a producer of clinical waste (anything containing blood really) you have a duty of care to dispose of it correctly, you can no longer just flush stuff down the loo, unfortunatel its yet another cost to be taken into consideration all be it a small one of less than £5 a week :rolleyes:

Thanks Beautific and Steve. I shall contact the company once qualified as I believe that doing things the rgight way is extremely imortant and £5 a week is not a great deal to ensure that things are done correctly :)
