I wonder if someone in here ever tried to do their own skin care?
I'm trying to do some and it is so much fun, i just love it. If you ever did how did you like it, and were you happy with the results?

not sure about DIY skin care...but I have tried plenty of DIY having visited B&Q ...my bathroom looks a treat now:lol:

But then again I am a bloke so could possibly be excused and the bacon butties from the kiosk just outside the entrance are absolutely fab and parking's free...there's normally a good discount carpet warehouse opposite most B&Q sites also:eek:

Oh Colin we have a leaky shower can you help!

Can't do DIY but have made my own body scrubs using brown sugar, olive oil, grapeseed oil and essential oils to scent. Skin feels lovely and you don't need to moisturise afterwards, however this has only been for my own use would'nt on clients.

Hi, make my own cleansers, a mix of jojoba oil and aloe vera. It's lovely and smooth and is a good cleanser.

I went on an Aromantic course last November and learned how to make moisturiers, toners, shampoos and lip gels. I haven't actually got my act together yet to buy the kits and start making at home, I hope to do it later on though.

It's great to be able to make your own products though.

LOL but seriously ...producing your own concoctions is fine for your own use....however if you are going to apply this to any paying customer ...it is a whole different ball game as so many factors come into play...not least insurance of course

I started out with an Armonatics kit 15 years ago(I have just been reminded that I bought his 3rd ever kit, they were 3 miles down the road from where i lived at the time), I worked from home whilst training etc. I used to make my own products, made them for friends and family and then sold them. My aromatherapy course qualified me to make products, my insurance covered me. However I know things are different now with regards to labelling ingredients etc etc. Its a lot of fun and very satisfying, especially if you make something that works for someone, if i had the time and the money i'd do it again.

i admit it is a lot of fun to make your own concoctions, this is how i began to love this bussiness, i usually make body scrubs from cofee grounds and olive oil with a mix of essential oils that i really like. I used to make my own cleansers, tonerrs even moisturisers from a mix of melted wax from the chemist with flower essences and essential oils. But this was again for myself as I was the only tester of my products. But I totally understand your passion and if i could understand chemistry better i would definetrly follow a course and start to mix and match. Good luck
