HI People!
New to this lovely forum although have dipped in and out lurking and picking up tips here and there - but have today taken the plunge and signed up.
So my first thread...and here is my dilemma...I have had an interest in Health and Beauty for a while and have done a couple of small courses (Tanning, Waxing and Basic Manicure). I have the funding to do some more if I choose.
I would love to run my own salon and have read threads on here (even recently) where therapists say they would lilke to be self employed but have no business experience, well I have the opposite issue. I have run my own retail business for 8 years and without blowing my own trumpet am very financially astute and have lots of business experience. A beauty salon sits beautifully with my existing business, I run a specialised ladies fashion business (bridal salon) and the synergy between both has some mileage and there are premises available to me literally two shops away from my own.
My plan would be to rent chairs to therapists initially and eventually offer more and more services myself, I have connections with a few people already (offering high-end aestethics).
With the benefit of your experience would you tell me to "get a grip" or "get going"?
...throws question to the forum and ducks pending responses
