Do nail dryers work

Never used these before, just wanting to know if nail polish dryers actually work! If so, is there a particular brand I should be going for ?

i bought a small one, which was battery operated, but not very successful.the contact was dodgy and the 2 pencil batteries seem to fail very quickly.... i now use a small desk fan.xx

Fan dryers do not work.
