Feel the same about people doing their own nails as hair dressers do about people colouring their own hair?

Yes we do! :grr::grr::grr:

Yup!!!!! :evil:

I just wondered lol as it drives me crazy x

Yes!! Really frustrating that I'm always thinking "oh I wouldn't do that"

Many technicians became technicians precisely because they started out doing their own nails! Maybe if honest, some of YoU did just that! I certainly started that way; discovered a talent for it and have been sharing that talent ever since.

Many will give nails a go and the majority will fail but some won't, and that is life. It doesn't bug me because I'm not going to change human nature nor get my knickers in a twist about it either. :D

I started that way! I'll be honest I looked at it and thought I've been to my nail tech for so long I've got a bit of an idea, I want a go!

Soon realised its blimmin' tricky isn't it?? I can't really be annoyed at others as that's what I did at first and genuinely didn't know any different. What does scare me is how much damage I could have done - and very lucky I didn't.

What I can't stand are folks who 'do nails' on other people (!) with no training, no clue, no insurance! Scary. But when friends try out minx or other wraps no it's not a concern. I don't have any friends that attempt acrylic or uv nails though :/

I don't have a problem with DIY-ers. I had a most excellent nail professional for 11 years who left my nails in perfect condition when I decided to embark on the DIY path. I, on the other hand, over filed my nails to the point that I have irreparable damage on several of my nails. That's the price I paid for being a DIY-er.

My problem with DIY-ers is if they are posers...posers being they are acting as if they are certified nail professionals.

That's dangerous.
