Do we need a separate tanning forum?

When I look at the skin forum, there are more and more tanning threads and you need to trawl through several pages to find anything on skin care/facials etc.

im getting fed up with the SAME tanning threads every bloody day!
arghhhhhhh

It is difficult but TBW this also applies to all the various disciplines that are discussed on the boards and I'm guessing it would be somewhat difficult to create categories for every single one of them.
What you can do is use the search options which will enable you to home in on posts relevant to your interest

I do understand the difficulties in having a category for every treatment, but I am finding the threads are predominantly tanning & eyelashes. Other treatments are only in a minority. I am a professional skin care/facial specialist, but it is becoming very rare to find relevant posts of interest to me on this site.

I agree there are sometimes repetitive questions being asked which if a search is carried out would more than likely provide an answer and would help preventing such repetitive postings being made.

That said even with these postings they are relevant to the individual making the posting as he/she is looking for help through such a posting.
Given that this is what SG is all about then clearly it is being used for what it is designed for...helping those who seek sound advice or general assistance ...not only that but to become and be part of a community

There are many many therapists not only from the UK but worldwide that gain a positive benefit from these forums and from those professionals who are only to happy to share there experience and knowledge with others.

Just as a side issue and yes whilst agree there are many ,what appear to be silly posted questions but it is worthwhile considering that we only get out what we put in....

Whilst suggestions are always welcomed, you will appreciate that it is impossible to sub-divide each of the forums into separate categories as the list would potentially be endless.

It has been found that The Skin Geek Forum, with its current sub-divisions, works very well and as has been suggested, the search facility and advanced search facility will help to direct you fairly quickly to exactly what you wish to find.

Hope that helps.

There are sooo many tanning threads but I think if we split them off this forum would be dead! hahaha.

The same questions in all forums are asked daily. Just one of those things

I can appreciate it probably is annoying for some, but I personally quite like looking through all the threads (especially if people have used good titles so you can tell straight away what the thread will be about)... if nothing else, I often find myself saying "oh i was thinking that the other day, lets see whats been said about it" even though you hadn't felt the need to post about it yourself.

I guess it's just a case of baring with it and scrolling through or as someone above suggests, use the search option.

Maybe as I have only been on here six months or so, it's still a novelty - ask me again in a year, haha!! x

I think that its a bit seasonal...I expect after the summer the skin forum will be filled with hot stones and how to combat sun damage!

I have always wondered why their wasn't subsections but now I just use the what's new tab and then only read those that hold any interest, there are dozens everyday I don't bother with.

Funny - i was just running down the skin forum looking at the headlines and thought there ought to be a spray tan group and there was the headline. there is always alot so im sure it would justify a seperate group and keep others in the skin.
maybe a votes in order - a yes from me (as the BGT panel would say) ha ha!

Ha - I was only thinking the other day "wish there wasn't so many threads on tanning" but since we were shown tanning in college last night now I couldn't be happier to see them all with all the answers to the questions I need to know now!

But seriously... Since there's so many different treatments that fall into the "skin" category it would be brilliant to have more of a breakdown of them

x

It would be nice but theres also TONS of threads on eyelash extensions. i think if you took tanning AND eyelash extensions and made their own forums this section (skin) would be empty! lol

I think that would be a good idea :)
