Hi every one, was minxing today and my client asked if I ever cut the minx in half becuse that what her old tech did? I mean like cut it horisontaly accross each piece so you would make two pieces. IS this ok would you have to cut the sharp corners off the other piece to make it fit at the cuticle xx

I do and yes i'll cut the corners to a softer, rounded shape.
I do it to get more use out of a sheet of minx, i'd throw away a lot of excess otherwise- i dont like to be wasteful!
There are some i dont do it to though- the ones with designs on the end- father christmas for example.

Hi.

Some patterns you can cut in half. When you measure the size against the toe of finger, you need to use a cuticle stick to hold the sticky bit (your finger must not come into contact with the sticky side) then measure and cut, you can use the other bit for another toe or finger.

when you place it on the other one, you can overlap the cuticle, as its too hard to cut prior to application you can just trim with some small nail scissors being careful not to touch the cuticle...

and for the quick apllication apply to the nail without pre heating then cut to size and use a hair dryer to heat and go over with cuticle stick and your fingers...

Hope this helps....x:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p

I keep Minx on the backing sheet before I do any cutting or measuring. I cut up in between each Minx so that I can measure it against the nail more easily.

I have only cut Minx in half for toes and always left it on the backing sheet. One half still attached. Will give it a go next time I'm doing fingers.

Thats great!! Thanks you guys, I have only just started to do them, will be cutting from now on :biggrin:xxx

Yes, I do use minx and definately cut to shape. Do place on the nail bed firstly to check the size, heat and will cut to size. Use a fine sizzors, I use the one with the curved tip, its easier to get into the edges.

If you are accurate enough you might even get three out of one strip.

Happy minxing!

The best scissors EVER are the White Handled curved scissors from S2 ... they are thin bladed, sharp, curved and best of all they are sprung like secateurs so you only need to squeeze the handles easily ... the kind of curved scissors with the holes in them for your fingers HURT.

Thank you, I will be ordering some from S2 very soon xxxx
