Another natural nail overlay question from me I'm afraid!!! I really like doing NNO's, and also charge for infills for these. However I was chatting to someone last night who's been doing nails for years, and she said she never does infills on NNO's as it's not really worth it. I thought about it and realised that the process of the infill isn't really that much different from doing a new set of overlays, so I started questioning myself as to whether I should bother or not?

What do you do? x

if you don't, what would you do?

I do some, as the client may want a little change in nail art and stuff.

It's just that when I do infills, I file a lot of it down anyway, and then I apply the same amount of layers of gel back on, as i do when I do a fresh set (if you see what I mean..). And I apply my layers all over the nail, not just on the regrowth area at the cuticle.

well, if I don't have to change the nail art, I buff away the sealer, put it back to shape, and fill in the cuticle area and seal again and that's it... if you don't spend less time or use less product, then yeah I understamd why you wouldn't see it as a refill lol

I always infill/rebalance. There isn't really a need to remove so much...you only need to remove what needs to be..and then only replace what you have removed.

I charge the same for a new NNO as i do a infill/rebalance...£25

There is no way i could be bothered or see the benefits of removing it all just to put it back on again....???

didn't your original training cover this very basic procedure?
They really should teach these methods in any decent training course before any qualifications are issued.

I'm not being harsh, it's a reality.......

To be honest, I don't think infills on overlays were covered! I remember doing it for tips (which I do), but not sure if we discussed it with a NNO.

There is no difference ... tips are just there to stop the product from falling on the floor...its just to add length to nails that don't already have the required lenth....if they already have the required length then overlay. once overlayed they are no different to tip and overlay.

I agree - surely its the same as a full set without the tip or sculpt?
