Hi everyone, was just wondering when doing a forever french nails, do you redo the whites every time or not? Any advice on the subject would be great x

Yes i redo the whites every time and replace the apex back where it should be,
you need to do this on every rebalance other wise the nail will be out of balance and will have a weak area,
also they do not look nice when they are out of balance hth

i always do.
i want my nails to look as good as possible at all times.
i dont like to see white tips that have been done deliberately too far up the nail so that they dont have to be done again on the next visit.
my clients get a full rebalance at every appointment.

Same here, I replace my smiles and apex everytime otherwise the nail will be unbalanced.

thanks guys, its good to know you can get advice. i work on my own so it great to know you can get help here x

We are always here to help. There are a lot of us that are the same as you and work on our own, so this site is great to bounce off one and another.

I live in a (very strange) place where they expect me to put the smile way too far down specifically to allow for a rebalance with white less often. Like around every other time. I hate this and think it is far better to do the white every visit. But, the customer is always right. AND they are used to seeing the NSS where the line is not in balance anyways. So they actually prefer it too far down.:eek::eek::rolleyes:

Personally I think that it depends on the client, some I rebalance including the white, however some who's nails grow slower I just do a fill of the pink at the back, tbh they could probably wait longer and then come back for a rebalance, but they like to come every 2 weeks and a rebalance every other time is fine.

I always refill the white. If you put the smile line where it should be you will need to refill it after 3 weeks as it will have grown out. If someone is getting it done every 2nd appt the white is being put too far down the nail to look natural (unless their nails grow really, really slowly)... :)

Im the same, some clients there is no need at all to replace the white, their nails grow slowly, so as Hope said, could wait longer in between appointments, but like to come back for a regular 2 week maintenance!

I always re-do them too.....infact i never just infill...its always a rebalance.

I have some clients whose nails grow slower and after 3 weeks when they return i think i could get away with it but although they look ok after 3 weeks...they will have another 3 weeks to go after seeing me.
