I'm doing a special promo at the moment as im fairly new to it, normal price £15 but keeping it at £10 until the end of the summer.

Im currently using sienna x, sun labs and white to brown

sunlabs and sienna x the most popular.

i ALWAYS double spray my clients

but at charging just £10 i'm not making as much profit as i think i could.

I'm worried that im using generally just too much solution

just wondered how many people double spray or if you have any tips on how i could use less solution, but still do a double spray as my clients kind of expect double spray now & thats why i have so many returning customers.

I only ever single spray and use around 30 mls at the most,
it doesn't make the tan any darker doing a double spray, one even coverage spray will get the same result,
you need to play with your gun so it is spraying the minimum amount while still producing a nice mist,
tape up a piece of couch roll and spray a stripe on there, the top layer needs to be damp so that it is puckered and the second layer should be bone dry and still white, hth

Hi

I use Tantrick and never double spray! I give one good coat followed by a light misting if needed.

To ensure you are not using too much solution - make sure your gun is set up properly. Ideally you should use approx 30ml per tan.

By the way, yur prices seem way too low even for a newbie. If they want a second coat, then I would charge extra for 2 coats.

I only spray once and thats certainly enough, How comes you have been spraying twice?

Hi
I wouldn't double spray. Get a darker tan than what your using. If the tan is dark enough then they wouldn't need to be spread twice. I think the darkest is 12% or maybe you can get darker solutions im not sure. But some tans have a developer that you add into the tan you have to make it go dark. Spraying twice is double your profit. If i spray a client with my darkest tan and they want to go darker i charge another £5 for it as they're using more of my product but 9 times out of 10 everyone's happy with my dark tan. Hth x

I never spray twice. If you spray twice you are only making the guide colour darker. The tan developing underneath will still be the same.

Ok, just to be different..... I ALWAYS SPRAY TWICE! and I only use 25 - 30ml solution so it doesnt mean you use twice as much! just gives a nice even coverage :green:

I wouldnt do it any other way!!

thanks for all your opinions guys

even if i do one spray im deffo using more than 30mls solution i would say 50-100 mls easily

has anyone any tips on how to use less, turn my gun dial down?

& did you find you used more at the beginning?

ps and how to you guage how much you are actually using- do you measure it into the cup?

i always find you have to put a good bit extra in the cup so that it actually goes up the wee tube thing

I have just started spray tanning and I don't use this amount of solution. Deff turn your gun down, and ask if they can feel it as well as being able to see it. I have been experimenting with peeps and getting the hang of my gun. I think it is trail and error.

If you can see solution forming and dripping turn it down.

Whilst at Tantrick we train with a single application (and maybe a light misting over if required by the client) it doest mean that spraying twice is wrong...its simply everyone is different..it works for Sherrie so what the heck.

Its perfectly normal to use more solution when you set off... The thing to now do is to start focusing on reducing the amount of solution you are using which currently is far to much..its just a confidence thing and believing in the solution you are using in that even if you use less you will still turn out a good tan.

The trick is also to look to reduce in small steps so you don't freak out...so..go turn your output dial down(clockwise) a qtr turn...after a few sprays if your happy the tans are still turning out fine...turn that dial down a further qtr turn and so on .....you will within a few weeks reach the point where your not happy with the tan outcome..so turn the dial back open...and you've found the optimum output volume for your technique....talking of which if you want to PM me your E mail addy I will happily mail you a good technique guide which may also help you in reducing the amount of solution you use

Good luck..its simply all about usage which brings confidence and a trust in your solution...it will tan..less is more

You shouldn't double spray with Sienna. Some solutions you can though but not this one
xxx

well did a tan this morning with a new customer (sienna x) and just did one spray. definately they dont look as dark, but as you say its just the colour guide thats geting darker.

we'll see - think im going to have to keep double spraying my regulars or they will have a face on them, im just giving a lite misting for the second spray though & turning the dial down really low.

anybody using tandare with the drops- im thinking of converting and waiting on samples but would appreciate thoughts compared to sienna x?

With Sienna X you shouldn't double spray as when it starts to fade it'll be uneven. x

Well I always double spray with Sienna X and I've not had a problem??

I had my spray tanning training with Sienna X - and they specifically said in the training not to double tan as it can have a speckled effect when the tan starts to come off. So i've never double sprayed with it and all my clients have been perfectly happy but hey each to their own - i've never tried to double spray them as i would be cutting into my profit.

I think because you use the Q range babe. I double spray with this one with no probs but the others were cracking when fading if double sprayed xxx

Don't know about that? I use both ranges, the 8.5%, 10%, 12%, 12.5% and now 16%..... double spray with all of them and no problems! I cant really see how it could make a difference to how you fade if you spray once or twice to be honest? maybe i'm wrong? lol  :green:

And as I keep saying, it makes no difference to my profit, I still only use the same amount (or less) as the people who spray once!

I will just keep doing what works for meeeee....

And I for one am VERY jealous.
