Hi, im working in a salon and we use dermalogica products. I dont know much about specific skin products etc as originally trained as a holistic therapist where we were taught a 'holistic' facial, which consists of your cleanse, tone, exfoliate, mask etc but also face mapping in relation to the areas of your face being connected to rest of your body. However, my manager has let me do express and hour long dermalogica facials as I know the routine and its just using their products. However, the other therapist has been on the 'drmalogica' training and i wandered if you're allowed to practise if haven't been taught? Also i dont feel I am giving a full professional treatment as I dont fully know about skin eg. aha's salisilic acid and their purpose?? I haven't done full beauty therapy only aspects and dont hold a 'facial' certificate on its own- and believe i should? how can i give someone info when i dont know the ins and outs myself The other therapist and manager just say 'oh its fine' or i read the dermalogica book myself to find out. They also get me to do the specific skin type facials like 'age smart' which uses some potent exfoliator which they have traine din but if they've booked it in without realising and i have to do it, they just quickly tell me before client arrives- dont feel very professional! :irked:
