HI i know this sounds like a stupid question but does anyone offer tea and coffee to clients?

Yes i gave them a choice of tea, coffe or hot chocolate, its one of those little extras i like when visiting a salon so i knew it would go down well.

If i have anyone at the house to nails i never remember to ask if they want a drink!

My boyfriend does tho... Bless him!! x

I always ask. It's a real nice ice-breaker, plus it's an added perk. I tend to do it either when they first come in, or when their feet are soaking in foot spa.

I think it is pretty standard practise to offer your clients a choice of drinks.
Here in spain it tends to be coffee, tea or a selection of cold drinks and fruit juices or water.

Yes, I always do, but with treatments like eye brow shapes, they hardly ever take you up on it.

I have a "Flavia" machine and they are so nice. We do charge for cappucino's and all the luxery ones they do, but they do Tea & Coffee.

Hope that helps you

Carly x

If my clients are in for enhancements or a manicure (anything hand related really) I don't offer anything for the simple fact that i don't want them touching their fingers on anything after i've prepped them!

I offer tea coffee, hot choc and fruit juice I even include on my consultation cards how they take thier tea or coffee so I can have it ready for them before they arrive. I think thats a nice touch!!

hiya my salon offers tea, coffee, capuccino, hot choc, juice, water and we do offer wine, especially when its a special occasion or theres a group of ladies coming in together!

Yes I work from home and always offer a drink, about 50% take me up on it . . . I make a note of how they take their coffee or whatever and they are always chuffed to find it's just how they like it :green:

Fruit teas go down really well, and as there is no milk they don't go cold whilst you are doing the major part of the work!
Lemon and ginger is lovely as even if the bag is left in, it still tastes lovely!
I do sometimes forget to offer though!
Ofcourse when i have a chain of smart salons, I'll have kids on work experince to do all that for me....(I can dream):)

I always offer a drink of tea, coffee or a cold juice. Most take me up on it and appreciate me asking.

I am mainly mobile, but when they come to me i offer. Some are gasping for a cuppa as they have just left work.:)

Hi,
This is my opinion from the other side of the desk, so to speak. (Im planning on doing a training course but need to find some spare time)

I once went to a lady who had her garage converted into a beauty room. I was having overlays done and was really impressed with the service... until.. she opened the cupboard and produced an ashtray and a packet of ciggies and lit up! Dont get me wrong, I smoke like a train myself but I didnt think it was professional. Oh and I never got offered a cuppa either!

she smoked? whilst doing your nails? surely that's actually against the law, may be her garage, but is it still classed as a place of work? that has to be rare.
I smoke, but never before, or between clients. yuk!

did you see the thread on the free NVQ?

Yes she sat buffing my nails and smoking at the same time. Needless to say I didnt go back!

Thanks for the info on the training but I doubt they cover Northern Ireland. I have found a great place to train and I dont mind paying a bit more if the training is correct.
Its basically finding the time, I work full time and I'm looking after my Dad as he has terminal cancer so we are constantly running to the hospital for chemo.

I used to offer coffee and tea (3 kinds of each) .... to be quite honest i'm too busy to be a teamaid these days (and my clients understand),my sefvices are on the hour, every hour ..........

more often than not, my clients now bring me a softdrink, or if it's after 2pm (they know me so well), they text and ask me if i need anything, they know i've had my butt glued to the chair since I started. After 5pm they offer wine (which I usually refuse) as i've been too busy doing nails to eat and i don't drink on an empty stomach.

Even though this may seem odd, but unless i was thirsty, starving and in desperate need of a pee, I wouldn't feel i was busy enough.

But i you have the time, by all means offer them tea, coffee, water or juice, but just to be on the safeside, make sure you have decaff, there will always be the few that want to push your offer just that little bit more and if you are offering, you wouldn't want to dissapoint.
