A few people on here swear by the uv topcoat by ibd to go over natural nails with polish so i have ordered one for myself to try it out as i have had probs withOPI polish chipping, peeling, etc after only 2 days. So for those of you who do use this product, are you using this as the only topcoat for your polish, applying it after the color polish? Or do you use a regular polish topcoat first and then the UV topcoat? Also how long do you need to wait before applying this topcoat, does the polish need to dry first? Sorry for all the ?s and thanks for your input

I use OPI polish and before I bought the IBD UV Topcoat I always used CND Sticky BaseCoat, 2 coats of OPI Polish, then CND Air Dry Fast Dry TopCoat. And it works beautifully - the polish lasts so much longer. I also use the IBD Gel so I purchased the IBD UV Light which has the UV Heat dry setting to dry polish and it works great! I put their hand in after each coat of polish and keep switching hands until they are finished - and now I finish with the IBD UV Topcoat and put both hands in for 3 minutes and they can literally walk out the door with dry polish, it's amazing!!

Thanks for the help. Im using the cnd Brisa uv lamp, it does not have any heat settings but do you know if it would work for this as well?

Oh definately - the IBD UV TopCoat is made to use with a UV light, I put it under the light for 3 minutes on my lamp so you will just have to play with the time and see what works for your lamp. Good luck, it's a great product you will love it.

I'm going to sound really silly now but is that what the UV fan is for on the IBD lamp?????;) Because I only use the general UV setting for gel, i've never had to use it. A quick query, I bought the IBD Ultraseal to go on the top of the IBD gel and no matter how I apply it, it goes matt and dull. Will this product have the same affect?

do you use the IBD lamp?
also ultra seal needs just 1 min cure time & a clean side of the IBD wipe to clense it afterwards, i use intense seal now it keeps the shine better

Actually it is a good question not a stupid one and no one has answered you so I will.

The fan in the UV Lamp helps to draw out and disperse the solvents in the polish. Same thing with the CND UV Lamp for Shellac. It doesn't actually dry your polish but the fan does help with speeding up solvent evaporation.HTH
