im a make up artist but also offer manicures - i was hoping to offer shellac to my brides and bridesmaids in the form of a pamper party few days prior to the wedding .. but am wondering how i can get round having to remove it from their nails 14 days on, also bride is likely to be on honeymoon - would it damage her nails?
would also like to offer shellac parties -same principle as minx parties, but have to be local and perhaps everyone will have to go back to the hosts house at pre-arranged date to have it removed, do you think this could work?
just playing with some ideas at the moment, like everyone else im excited about it and wondering how i can incorporate it into my service menu

Could you not just give her some of the removal things so that she can do it herself when she's away?

The removal of Shellac is via special wraps, as the cost of these will have to be included in the initial Shellac treatment, why not give them the removal wraps with them to remove whenever they want. Also Shellac does not HAVE to be removed after 14 days, I've seen (& touched!!) Shellac on fingernails which were applied 2½ weeks before and they still looked perfectl! Ideal for a bride who is going away on homeymoon :D, but Gigi has advised that the longer Shellac is on the longer it takes to remove!

I'll definitely be advertising this as pamper party style as well as single client. I don't see why we can't give them the remover wraps to remove themselves.

Calgel sell their remover for this same purpose, I think it's called Calaway. Perhaps there will be retail bottles of the Shellac remover. If not you could possibly get small bottles for a little bit of acetone and give them to the client for free. Of if you can buy large bottles of the remover fill the small bottles with this.

I'm sure there are ways.

thank you for your replies .. i was under the impression we had to remove the shellac ourselves and not give out the removers, if this is the case i will just have to offer to local brides only - cant be travelling 50 miles 2 weeks after the wedding just to remove some shellac, lol

hi tweezerhappy
shellac mani/pedis would go so well with your eyelash extenions
perhaps you could offer special occasion packages : party lashes and nails etc for brides, proms etc .. (again local)
also packages for holidays etc .. brilliant !
now cant wait to train in flirties lashes, lol !!

I actually have someone booked in at the end of May for exactly that. Lashes, Minx toes and Shellac fingers. She was very excited about it when I minxed her fingers.

Have you booked your lash training?

hi tweezerhappy
thats brilliant .. i think it will be really popular with brides, have been mentioning it to them at their makeup trials and they all seem as excited as we do, lol

wish i was brave enough to try minx but keep reading various probs techs are encountering with sizing etc and as im only trained in mani/pedis dont think i'd be competent enough to deal with the technicalities!

havent booked my eyelash training yet .. im 5 mths pg and worry about the fumes, bending over etc .. im sure its safe enough, but im just not willing to take any chances

however as soon as that little person is out, im booking with flirties .. have all my mat leave to practice over, lol then i will hopefully be competent enough offer eyelash extensions alongside my bridal makeup services when i start up again next spring!

I think you're right to wait until you've had your baby before training.

I'm not enhancement trained, not properly anyway. I just did a 'leisure' class at college and bought kit throuh them. I only did friends. Haven't touched it in ages.

I love Minx. Srtuggled with filing at first but it's an easy product to work with after you've practiced.

Good luck with everything and keep us posted.
