Does anyone use Vitagel? I bought it when it first came out, and it always shrank horribly and lifted. I pretty much tossed it aside and haven't looked back, until last week. I've been wearing the recovery for a few days and haven't has any ideaossies, minus the shrinking, but its not lifting this time.

Does anyone usr this product regularly? I feel like it sounded great when it csm out and was then forgotten.

I tried the strength on 4 people and it just peeled off. Tried using a foundation brush and scrubbing the first coat but still peeled. Too scared to use it now

Anymore stories on this? I'm thinking in purchasing one x

I used it on myself- proper prep of nail, ph bond and one coat of vitagel, it peeled within two hours. I then did a test on my mum's nails- proper prep and ph bond. Then one coat of vitagel on one hand. To the second hand I also applied an acid less primer and two coats of vitagel. Both stayed put for three weeks with no issues. My mum has naturally lots of ridges in her nails but they were buffed smooth as part of the prep- this is the only difference between her nails and mine......x

We used it when it first came out and had terrible results. Peeled off in a couple of days - although the nail underneath looked great! Scared us off of it for a while. Then one of our techs started using the bottle brush to put a teeny, tiny dot of it on each nail and then using her square gel brush to scrub it into each nail and seal it. 30 seconds to LED cure and then color and top coats. It does much better now, lasts about 10-12 days - compared to 14-21 for regular foundation or Structure. Personally, although this technique does help a lot, I still find it hard to work with, but it really does leave natural nails looking great.

Recently saw Debbie Willis harmony educator demo this and she used the smallest amount and really scrubbed it in so thin, also she said its a two week treatment that needs replacing at that time so not to expect three weeks in anycase. Might have a bash at this tonight as its a fantastic product if only could keep it on lol

I've used it regularly on myself & different clients & had no probs at all.

I have the recovery formula. I had peeling issues after a few days. I tried it on my mum and sis as a base for colour. Mums lasted about a week - usually get 4+ weeks. Sis was a few days....

I recently used it again on myself under colour and I had a weeks wear which is ok for me.... I did scrub in ultra thin so maybe that's the key...

it has to be applied extremely thin, and I always put two coats of it on if worn alone. My mum has had the recovery on for almost 3 weeks now on it's own! Other clients always get it under gelish colour and they have noticed a difference!
Don't give up!

I tested it out on my own nails first and had no issues with it, it lasted well I had a full 2 weeks out if my Gelish and only changed it because of regrowth. However it didn't suit all clients, some that were going 2-3 weeks with normal base coat were getting peeling within a week so it wa put on the shelf and I only use it on mine. It's a shame because removal was a dream. Maybe my application wasn't thin enough but I'm weary to use it on clients now so if anyone knows a full proof way this product works well as a 2-3 week base for Gelish it will remain on the shelf.

I've used it on my friend with no problems and her nails look amazing now! However on my mum they don't last at all! I think it sometimes depends On the client.

I used it a couple of times but found it made removal impossible so I sold it x

It is fantastic, once you get the application right- which has proved a point of much discussion :-/ I've just been to see a client who hAs had two vitagel strength manicures- just a layer and cleanse. Her nails were very badly damaged to begin and they looked fab. Gone from paper thin and sore to almost back to normal in 6 weeks. It really does make a difference I've found.

i am glad to hear that. i had a biopsy on one of my nails last year for a suspected bcc. luckily it wasn`t but since the nail has grown back it is paper thin. i have put quite a thick coat on to support it but maybe i should have used vitagel and structure?

I use gelish, but after I heard of bad reviews about vitagel I decided not to get it. I also do Biosculpture gel which is good for strengthening anyway. But I would love to hear what's the secret of application for vitagel Gem Gems..

You may find if its thick it will peel. See how you go. Haven't ever used it under structure but as a replacement for foundation I can't see why not. :) x

Hehe, not sure I have the answer. I had many failed attempts myself but when it peeled, it left such lovely nails behind I had to keep on the case. As said above somewhere, Debbie demonstrated it at Cardiff beauty show applying it incredibly thin, much like foundation would be Applied and worked into the nail. She described It as a non stable foundation, a two week treatment. Hope tha helps!

I was told by my harmony educator not to use inconjuntion with structure gel.
I initially had problems and haven't used much vitagel but really scrubbed the first layer (the bottle brush just doesn't cut it), used x2 layers and x2 layers of TIO and that seemed to work for 10-14 days and nails were beautiful afterwards.:green:

I was told by my educator yesterday that it is not designed to be used as a base under gelish and to last as long as gelish normally does.

She said all the nutrients seep into the nail and when it has done its job it just peels off, This is why it lasts different times on different people. She said it is best used as a specialised treatment and could be sold as a course of treatments. We were told it should last 10-14 days.
