Does olive oil help prevent lifting of LCN hard gel nails?

I heard from several people applying olive oil throughout the day to cuticles, nails and hands helps prevent lifting. How true do you think this is?

I've heard of people using Almond Oil as it has well known conditioning qualities hence why it's used in many cuticle and massage oils, many many years ago (40+) I had heard of Olive Oil being used as a face and nails conditioner but only because there were not many purpose made cuticle oils around, but certainly not these days.
