Hi everyone,

I was just wandering if Sienna x blends in well, as somtimes it can go blotchy on certain skin types. I use it, and was just wandering for peace of mind as I worry about complaining clients :irked: I do a couple of light sprays over the area I've patted down, and sometimes it can look darker on that area.

when you say you do a couple of sprays over the area you've patted down... do you pat down because you are spraying too wet or something?

No matter what brand of solution is used this sounds and seems to be either inadequate pre tan prep undertaken by certain customers or an application problem.
If it were the solution the problem your experiencing would be with all of your customers not certain ones.

What is "patted down " mean...what are you actually doing here?

Say for example it goes on patchy, I use a mitten to pat it down then lightly spray area again.

When you say "it goes on patchy"do you mean that to much solution going onto one spot and the rest of the body is ok?

How much solution are you using on a full body and how far away are you holding the gun?

Is you movement across the body smooth?

Do you release the trigger at the end of each stroke?

Sorry about all the questions but possible cause could be in your answers.

Yes that's right, only patchy in certain areas of body.
I use the minimal amount otherwise it goes on blotchy and I hold the gun a hand away.
The movement is downwards and I release the trigger at the end of each spray I do down wards, then start again and so on. I pull the trigger above the shoulders before I spray so that no overspray is visible :) hope you understand that?

options

1) client has not exfoliated properly to the areas that are going blotchy

2) your hand movement pauses and therefore more solution to this area...easily done particularly if talking when spraying...is the blotching at the same place with all customers that experiance this problem.

3)possible gun problem...have you noticed where the blotches are that at that time the output volume increases...bit of a long shot but you never know...try hanging a couch roll down a door and spray up and down and see if the gun is intermittently ejecting more solution. The remedy for to much solution is to ever so slightly tighten the brass nipple..where the needle passes through at the rear of the gun head.

You could also try on your next spray tan holding the gun just slightly further away and see if this helps???

By the way..how much solution are you using for a full body spray?

Well my gun was replaced once all ready so cant be that!

I cant really say if it's the same areas, though the chest is a common blotchy place and inner thigh and under arms.

I worry about turning the brass knob incase I bend the needle!
Would holding the gun further way still spray onto client properly?
I haven't measured how much sol I'm using, I'd say just under 1/2 a cup approx, I'll have to measure next time.

wow half a cup is around 100ml which is far to much...you should aim for around 35/45ml as a standard but does take a while and lots of confidence

Start by turning the outlet volume dial clockwise by a full turn.
You will then have a new starting point...do some tans and if all is ok turn that dial down another half turn...do some more tans and if all ok still turn that dial down another half turn..do some more tans and so on until you reach the optimum output volume that suits your style and speed of hand movement across the skin.
Do not spray directly between breasts as this will grab and result in blotchy outcome...spray either side and let the over spray take care of the cleavage.

If its any help PM me your addy and I will happily send you out our techniques manual which may give you some good tips

Leave adjusting the brass knob as the problem seems to be to much solution and adjusting your output dial hopefully will go a long way in resolving the problem you are having.

Likewise if you do turn that dial down there is no need to hold the gun further away for now.
See how you go let us know if you need any further help.
Good luck

ok, thankyou, you're probably fed up of me by now!! :)

Thanks for the PM ..will send you out our technique manual and hope that helps.
Just keep turning that gun down and you will soon get there
