I bought a beautiful pomerainian puppy a month ago and I love him so much!
He is golden and so fluffy! He's happy and lovely and loves to snap away!
But my lifestyle just does not fit in with him and the thought of selling him makes me want to cry!
I don't know what to do geeks! I work 32hrs in 3 days and my dad refuses to walk him! I'm struggleing to find a dog walker and just don't think its fair on him at all. I do have a garden which I let him out into the mornings before I go to work but then he's locked in the conervatory till my dad gets home at 7ish! I get home past 11 take him for a quick walk then go to bed! This is such a crap situation! :'(
I'm lost as what to do!

hi.
I work 50 hrs in the salon and have 3 kids and 2 dogs at home.
I run them every morning at 6am before going to work and hubby runs them at nite.
could that not be an option??

Oh bless you , I do feel for you hun. I have two rescue dogs and it would break my heart to give them up. Have you had a look on Dog Walking Jobs, Dog Walker Work, Dog Walkers & Dog Sitters in UK
they might have someone in your area. You are right though it is not fair on a young dog to be left alone for so long. Puppies need to be socialised and need companionship. Dont you have a friend that could dog sit during the day? Even if you paid? I do think that you are going to have to give your puppy up as you cant give it the care and attention it needs. I used to do dog trainig and am a qualified dog behaviourist so I do know how this affects them. PM me if you like and I can see if I can help you re-home your little babby.

I work a lot and we pop he in our lunch breaks and walk her in the morning and evening. We trained polly so we could give her the whole of downstairs to roam ( only one DVD boxset casualty) and she's the happiest pooch alive! Makesure there's plenty for you pooch has lots to do in the day and work walks around work :) x

Gumtree and facebook tend to have a lot if dogwalkers I've paid £5 per half hour to two different people before I find it's affordable if you're working!

Be careful leaving him in the conservatory all day, especially when the weather gets warmer!
Could you not leave him with a friend for the days you are at work?

Im sorry to sound harsh but shouldnt you have known before you got the puppy? Its not like your lifestyle changed overnight :-(

It really upsets me when people get pets and then suddenly they cant cope. Most people work more than 35 hours and can manage multiple pets plus families!

Dog is for life, not just fir christmas as they say.

Sorry again, dont want to upset you, but you took this animal on yourself, surely you should have known you will have to walk it and give it time?

I must say that i do agree with jurate. Your pup is a family member now, can you not just make it work? My mums a dog walker and sitter and all her walking clients are people that work 40hours plus a week. Theres always lunchs to pop back, or if your mobile you could go inbetween clients. Walks before and after work and maybe a family member to sit with your pup if anyone will. if your near me id do it! I love poms heheI

I don't mean to sound rude but why did you get a puppy if your lifestyle is like it is.I know lots of people with dogs and that work and they cope fine.

It's not good for a puppy to be locked away all day and probobly should be let out half way through the day and they need training to well any dog does infact.Being locked in a conservatory all day isn't fair nor is it healthy for the little one.

Dogs are for life and if you have a hectic life where you can't give a puppy or dog all that it needs then don't get one.

I'm not being nasty just honest.xx

Could you maybe ask around for feedback about local dogwalkers? Quite a few 15/16 year olds in my area advertise dog walking before school or after.
I have a very lively Jack Russell and have to make myself get up 20 minutes early to walk her but it's worth it because she loves it (whatever the weather) :rolleyes:x

My two love their early morning power walk!
Lovely fresh air.Its a quiet time of the day and i plug my ipod in 1 ear and off i go!Its the best time for thinking and clearing my head before getting back in to the house where the kids are just rising for the day and the bedlam of getting everyone ready for the day starts!
One of mine is a rescue and the other ive had from a tiny pup and i would do anything for them, theyre like my kids.

Having a good old stomp with ipod on, you can't beat it! yep I'm the same 2 human kids 1 doggy kid!!x

Hi hun, it's really not fair on your dog and surely you feel it yourself without us banging on about it here.

Don't make it pay for your mistakes; find him a loving home ASAP and make him happy. The longer you hesitate the more traumatic and difficult it becomes for the dog.

Sometimes we make the wrong decisions... Hard? so what! Happens to everyone. but the sooner you put things right the better for you and him. Pupps need socialising, activities and most importantly training.

And if you no one wants it give it to RSPCA. They will do their upmost to find him a loving home.

Good luck x

People still have animals & work hun, you'll be able to keep the pup, I'm sure of it, tell your dad he needs to get his walking shoes on & help you out!!!

I know plenty of people who work full time & have animals, I used to do it myself. it doesn't nessacerily mean he has to go. x

Thanks for the advice everyone it means a lot. I'm going to change my working hours and hopefully that will help!
I'm stressing about a lot of things right now, crappy job, poor, just moved house and problems with my bf so everything seems 10x worse than it is I suppose

good luck, pink nails, i'm sure you'll get it sorted.xx:hug:

Please, the puppy needs you :) give him attention and everything will work out! And long walks with him will actually help you de-stress! :) good luck and enjoy your new best friend :)

You can definitely make this work, I have two toddlers and a husky puppy who needs a lot of exercise and attention, me and my partner both work and we manage. She's part of our family and it's hard work but worth it.
As said, you knew your puppy would need walking and looking after and you're it's mummy now so enjoy it :)

Do what's right for the dog.

Only you can work out what that is.

Maybe you can make adjustments and keep her. Maybe she needs a new home.
Either way, it's hard on you. Make your own mind up and don't be swayed by anyone else.

I do tend to agree, it is upsetting that innocent little cutie pies have to pay for unprepared human owners making them struggle to fit into a life where there is no time or space for them. I hope this little one gets a good deal and doesnt end up being passed from pillar to post and becoming one of the 7000 dogs being put down EVERY SINGLE DAY because they cant be re-homed through rescue sites

( Stepped off the soap box now)
