 hi all i dont often post any threads on here,im a quiet observer that has been helped tons over the past couple of years....so thanks everyone.i need some hlp,i have a small nail studio in which i have an extractor fitted in the ceiling this is really powerful and cost me a couple of hundred pounds to have installed and it is fantastic at removing all unwanted smells and vapours..The thing is though i am having a huge problem with dust, and i dont like wearing a mask.It is starting to get on my chest, and my tunic looks awful atrer i have finished with a client because of the dust settling on me.I try to sculpt with my brush to reduce the dust and this is helping but i need something else.I cant afford a new desk with something built in so can anyone come up with any suggestions for me,i have looked at previous threads and the nsi one came up a few times but when i rang them they said its more for fumes and that if i used their system it would create less dust.I am happy with my current systems creative and ezflow, can anyone help me :)

It does not have to be expensive to fit a small extractor into your desk (under the area at which you work) and a tube to the outside wall of the salon. You can have very efective dust removal this way using an ordinary small expelair unit. The most important thing is that you extract it to the outside otherwise you get involved in filters etc. Any builder or even your hubby perhaps can do this easy job of fitting to desk. I had 8 desks done like this for my salon and it worked wonderfully. The dist was extracted through a false ceiling and thento the outside.

I just got a vacuum attatchment for my E-File. You just hook it up to a small vacuum, like a Shop Vac. I haven't got it all hooked up yet, but it should be up and running by tomorrow. You can see how it works in Gina's new Glitter tut. It's on this site somewhere.

hi geeg thanks for your advice that does sound like a fab idea ,although it would not work for me as i am next to a beauty room inside the building without no outside wall maybe i could get my hubby to just fit something under the desk xxxx

hi where did you get your vacuum from do you have link? that sounds really good as i use an e file too x

You would be better off to suck it downwards, rather than upwards, past your nose/face etc. An exhaust fitted at skirtingboard height is better than a ceiling one ...BY FAR
