Hi

I have just done the ear candle treatment on someone and wondered how you would diagnose the content? I realise that this treatment has some scepticism, but the person does feel that one ear has a slight problem and the candle for that ear produced a much darker substance than the none problem ear.

If anyone that has done the course could maybe explain what you should or shouldn't see, that would be really helpful

Many Thanks

hi there!
i got taught that the darker substance is the wax/impurites that have been drawn out from the ears/nose and throat. And that the ****** coloured powder that is often there too, is more residue from the candle itself rather than anything from the ear!
hope this helps! i love doing hopi's! xx

Hi i would agree with rachirv, but i also look at whether the candles have been smoky, how long they have taken to burn and also how hot they feel on the back of my hand.

From my experience if there is a lot of smoke, feel hot and burn longer these would tend to indicate that there is some form of issue to be addressed. hth

Hi
Usually the more powder in the filter the more hard wax there is in the ear which will require more oil in between treatments to speed up the process.
If the candle burns quite quickly and has lots of smoke from the top then it is usually drawing alot of wax out into the filter or the ear is pretty clear.
If you get a filter with no powder and no wax then this means that the ear is very clear and the candle would have likely burned down in around 8 mins.

Hope that helps

If there is more dark substance from one ear, this means that the candle has worked more on that ear than the other, inside isn't the wax or impurities from the actual ear, it's from the candle itself !!

It isn't the wax or impurities from the ear itself but from the wax etc from the candle, and means that that particular ear is more blocked and the vacuum created from the candle makes the candle work harder, yes look how it burns as others have mentioned and how long it takes, the longer it is the worse the ear :)

You do a facial massage after I take it ? That helps a lot :)

Bugger sorry I thought I lost my post and couldn't remember what I typed lol not sure how to delete it

and also how hot they feel on the back of my hand.
ooooh now that is interesting comment Helen. Can you explain what you deduce from the heat/hotness of the candle on the back of your hand?

There is a good book on ear candling that discusses the candles in great detail. Its called Ear candling in essence by mary dagleish.

I have found that with some of my clients that particularly suffer with compacted wax, as the candle burns down it actually seems to generate more heat. So as it approaches the final stage the heat felt on the back of my hand can be quite intense (not burning though). Clearer ears don't generate the same kind of temperature at all just a gentle warmth. So again a bit like burn time i feel the hotter it is the harder its having to work. I hope that makes sense.

thanks, I'll bear that in mind and try it out.
