effectiveness of treatments

what methods can be used for evaluating a facial treatment? is client feedback the only way to know?

I am guessing this is for your home work,
other than going through the client record card with the client, you yourself would be looking at the skin and assessing also there is an electrical machine that will assess skin for you but cant remember for the life of me what it is called
