Good evening everyone!

I'm 21 years old and have been doing nails for about 3 years now. I want to start using an electric file/drill so I can do backfills for those pink and white gel sets that are becoming so popular right now. I would also like to learn how to use the electric file/drill to increase my timing when it comes to filing.

But where to start? What kind of electric file/drill is good for someone who just starting out? I don't want to spend a lot of money right now since things are slow in the salon anyway (this is also KILLING me) but I don't want a piece of junk either.

What do you recommend?

Thank you very much!

You will need to train with a recognised company so you will have to spend a reasonable amount of money. I do feel though that if you are using gels you shouldn't need to use an efile. Gel is softer to file than acrylic which is what I use mine for, I don't bother when doing gel nails as it is just as quick to file the gel.

I use the Young Nails YN-99 and find it wonderful but you are looking at £375 for the machine so you would have to consider how this would be viable, especially if things are slow at the moment. :green:

Thank you for your help. Anybody know of any others?
