I have searched through previous posts and would like more information on electric files.

I understand training is necessary and have been looking at some of the sites which have been recommended in the threads I have been reading, I understand that Kupa is a good make to buy.

I have looked at their website and noticed that the mani-pro by Kupa does not seem to have a foot pedal, would this be a good entry level e-file for me as I have never used one before and does it have a foot pedal? if not how is it operated? alternatively....would a foot pedal operated one be better? I dont want to buy one that I would want to change at a later date.

I will make sure I have the correct training to use one but would like more info before I make the decision to buy and train.

Thanks in advance

Zoe

Hi there Zoe nice to see you around again! I can't comment on the Kupa but have recently bought the YN99 from Young Nails and it is fab! Really easy to use, really quiet and small with push controls. It operates at speeds up to 30,000 rpm and it's dead easy to change your bits. Well worth the money. :)

Thanks She

Was going to get one maybe from Santa, been soooo very busy since we last spoke, did email you but didnt hear back.... thought you had got fed up with me already! lol!

I am taking between 1 1/2 and 2 hours to do a full set/infills as I now do great nail art and glitter tips, which are so popular and obivously this increases time taken so cutting back on infill time means less effort and more clients!!

You were right by the way......:green:

The only Kupa E-File that supports a foot pedal and 220 V (i.e. UK and European voltage) is the KP-3000.

Iryna never used a foot pedal although we have a bunch of the KP-3000. It's probably the best E.File on the market - very low vibration, very light hand piece.

Having said this, I've read on another forum that they added some plastic to the handpiece to save costs on having all steel. One user commented that the plastic melted a bit when it came into contact with acetone (not too surprising really). So keep the acetone away from the hand piece.

The KP-3000 is being discontinued but Kupa will still support their one year warranty.

One other point, Kupa are the only USA company to manufacture their own E-Files. The rest rebadge other companies. Against that you have to consider that if it does need a repair sometime then you will have to ship back to the USA. We figured that if any of ours fails inside three years we will just throw it away - for $*** it's a great price anyway.

IMO the Mani Pro does not have the torque necessary to perform all jobs in relation to using on nails and/or pedicures. Yes, it is a good price, but when pressure is applied the bit stops rotating. It vibrates quite a bit. I've also seen comments from others where the bit either slips out of the handpiece or gets stuck because the bit is only held on by sliding into the hand piece, not locking it in place. For a little bit more money I would recommend buying one that has better torque, bit locks into place and can perform any job you need.

I have the YN one, and it does the trick for me.
I also have a suction unit attached to it that vacuums all dust away from my breathing zone, later I'll have my punctual suction unit taking the dust away from the cuppboard with the unit, because eventhough I have filters in the unit, the fine dust still comes through

Hi, I was just wondering hwere you would find the attachment that clips onto the file?? thanks, ruth

I bought mine here:

LURACO technologies

Remember that the dust is only taken out of your breathing zone, the finest dust is still escaping the filter, thats why I have mine in a cupboard.
