Hello Everyone

I have met a potential client who tells me that she can't have nail enhancements because of her heart condition.

Her heart condition is due to "a tight valve and a Supra Ventrical Trachaecardy" (No I'm not a Doctor, I just wanted to have the facts!)

The client believes that the chemicals in the enhancements may enter her bloodstream and cause an allergic reaction with the heart possibly unable to cope.

Yet she does wear various brands and colours of nail enamel.

My question is.........

Is this reaction possible?
Should I avoid nail enhancements and offer her wonderfully relaxing manics and pedics instead?

Your advice on this would be appreciated

Hi Beatrix,
Well just had a thought and a read up on things .............

Well has she asked her doctor ????

If I am right the Lady in question would be on drugs like a blood thinner ???
Then you might have problems regarding hand massage, when giving a manicure, blood could clot and cause serious damage.............

Or a cut to the cuticles could cause serious bleeding.

You said the Lady wears nail polish and obviously takes it's of with remover too....................... There are Chemicals in these too..........
Does she dye her hair ?????

With enhancements no product should come in contact with the skin......
But in saying that, we are not doctors, we are here to beautify, not to heal or diagnose the sick........as you have already said.......well done........

So if she believes she can't then you will have to go with that............
Because I always say ;" If in doubt leave it out"
But ask your own GP and get some info for your own satisfaction........

As she is a client with contra indications, no service no matter what, should be done without the doctors consent..................

hope this helps
love Ruth xxx

Hi Ruth

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and constructive reply.

I will see if I can discuss this with her GP and see what he says.
